A Halimeter measures the level of volatile sulfur compounds (VSCs) in the mouth. It measures the levels of hydrogen sulfide and methyl mercaptan, two gases that have been shown to be connected with bad breath, in part per billion. This instrument has been the only VSC monitor that diagnosis halitosis (bad breath)
for years, but now that its patent has expired many other instruments such as the Halimeter are being released into the market. Do not fall for a copy of this instrument, it has been helping dentists’ in providing optimal oral health for years and will continue to do so.
