Cerec
CEREC is an advanced dental restoration technology to create and place ceramic restorations like crowns and veneers in a single appointment.
Developed at the University of Zurich, Cerec, or CEramic REConstruction, is a dental restoration product that allows a dental practitioner to produce an indirect dental restoration using a variety of computer-assisted technologies, including 3D photography. Along with the latest software and hardware updates, crowns, veneers, onlays, and inlays can be prepared using different types of ceramic material – all done in one sitting, as opposed to earlier techniques that required multiple appointments and procedures.
One of the advantages of using Cerec technology is that the materials used match the physical properties of the natural tooth more closely than metal crowns and other synthetic materials. Also, the materials are chemically bonded to your tooth, so the dentist can save as much healthy tooth structure as possible while providing you with a dental restoration that strengthens your tooth.
Benefits of Using CEREC:
Convenience – products come in a variety of ceramic options that let you work regardless of quantitative needs, time requirements, or financial necessities.
Superbly Strong – material options feature very high strength ceramics.
Options – the most materials available in any chairside CAD/CAM dentistry are available with the CEREC product.
