This place is the ONLY PLACE I get my teeth worked on because they take the best care of me. Alexis at the front is always so sweet and kind and goes out of her to make sure I feel like Beyonce during my appointments. If you go somewhere else I hope they are giving you the Beyonce treatment too like this place does or you’re just wasting your money. #choices

Doctor Gretchen Hoover knows her stuff and is meticulous; she callsIt picky.She also has an upbeat personality which she shares with clients.Feedback from staff is that she is an excellent boss.All staff are friendly and intend on helping.Connie makes life a tad bit less difficult. 💜I started getting my teeth fixed and cleaned when I moved here, and don’t intend on leaving.She also did some excellent work with the braces my partner received.

My husband and I have been going to this office for 5 years and they are amazing. We both have dental challenges and the doctors, along with their whole staff, have been very careful and caring. If you fear going to the dentist due to past poor experiences, this is the place for you. We go to the Austin office off of Westgate and love all the staff there. Our adult daughter goes there and we just recently recommended a dear friend who has dental issues. Both are very glad they made the move to Dr Hoover's group!!

At the risk of sounding repetitive, compared to the other reviews, DITTO! If I could give 10 stars I would. Dr Hoover is the best dentist I've ever had, & I rarely give 5 stars in a review. Her excellent 'bedside manner' is matched by her professionalism & expertise, & I feel lucky to have found her. She made me feel comfortable, & took her time explaining my dental issues, & how we may resolve them, without me having to take out a 2nd mortgage. Dr Hoover AND her staff are the best, & I'm just glad I found her before her practice fills up & she's no longer available, because I have no doubt it will. I've had bad luck with other dentists where their main concern is the almighty dollar, & their service is shoddy at best. Dr Hoover is genuinely caring, & takes pride in her profession, the way it should be. And I'm proud to have found her!

I have had a lot of negative experiences with dentists who have hurt me after saying they wouldn't and getting infections after getting work done. I usually have very high anxiety when I go to the dentist. I switched to About Smiles after doing research on dentists that are in network with my insurance. This group was the most friendly and welcoming group to both me and my husband. He just needed to replace a broken partial so that is all they discussed. I went in as a new patient with a lot of previous dental work. I did not feel anxious. The hygienist did a deep cleaning and did not hurt me and frequently asked if I was OK and if I needed a break. After reviewing my pictures and x-rays the dentist was concerned about a tooth that had a crown and a big space between it and the tooth next to it that food always gets stuck in. I also had a very old filling that was leaking out around the tooth crumbling around it. She was afraid I might lose those two teeth so she discussed a plan and did it while I was there. The dental assistant was very competent and had everything ready that the dentist need. The woman that does their insurance is very experienced and discusses costs with you after speaking to your insurance company so you know exactly what to expect your cost to be. The dentist took out my old filling and put in a new one. She took off my old crown, built up the tooth, took an impression, put on a temporary crown and ordered the permanent one. All without pain or raising my anxiety. They also have the cutest office dog to help patients stay calm. I recommend them to anyone that wants a good dental team that treats you well.

This is the best experience I’ve had with a dentist since I moved to Austin. The office staff were very friendly and helpful and it was easy to make an appointment. I went in because I had a chip in my front tooth and they were able to fix my chip the same day. The dental hygienist, Chloe, did a very good job of explaining everything she was doing as she was doing it and provided clear steps for future treatments. Dr Hoover did an amazing job fixing the chip in my tooth! The color matches perfectly and you can’t tell that’s it’s filled in at all, I was astonished by how great they look afterwards. The office environment was clean and very comforting. I’ve been weary of going to the dentist in the past because I don’t trust a lot people in my mouth but Both the doctor and the staff were so knowledgeable and friendly that I had no problem with trusting them to fix my teeth. I am going back in a few weeks for a deep cleaning. Thanks for making it a great experience!

I visited About Smiles after reading such great reviews. The service I received was so warming. I was first greeted by Tiggy (I hope I got her name right) who was warm and kind. Shandra was amazing!!! Her and Dr. Hermann helped ease my pain, calm my nerves and even sang to me! The music was a great distraction as I was getting an extraction and graft. Dr. Hermann explained everything thoroughly, was patient and made me feel so comfortable. I've never had this experience at a dental office before. The hygienist, forgot her name, but was thorough as well. When I left to pick up meds, Connie was so helpful and the error was on my pharmacy. Thank you all. I will definitely be back and I just can't thank you enough.I highly recommend About Smiles for all your Dental needs!!

Dr. Gretchen Hoover is possibly the sweetest, kindest, most compassionate, and the most skilled at her craft Dentist I have ever come into contact with!! I have been in the dental business for over 30 years and never have I met a dentist that cared so much about my smile and making me happy. She took my old worn out crowns and veneers that I have collected throughout the years, and turned my smile into a work of art. Why? Because she truly cares and has a huge heart of gold! I love my new teeth and smile so much more now. She goes out of her way to make your visits comfortable and painless. I love her and her staff, especially Kris that spent way too much of his time to make the perfect temporary! I would recommend Dr. Hoover to anyone, especially if you are the least bit apprehensive about getting any dentistry done. She is awesome, love her!!!

We normally do not equate comfort with going to the Dentist, but from the time I walked into the office of About Smiles on Western Trails and was greeted by the Receptionist until the time I was checked out by the kind and patient person who takes payments, I felt not only comfortable but also like everyone who works there, from Receptionist, to Dr. Lane, to his assistants and anyone else I may have forgotten, possessed the utmost competence in their individual roles. Everything was explained with patience and compassion and I never felt rushed. Great job by Dr.. Lane and the entire Crew of About Smiles.

I went to see Dr. Hoover to get some cavities filled and she was so great at making me feel comfortable. I get really bad anxiety when going to the dentist but she was great about always talking to me and telling me what she's doing and why. We also took my daughter to Dr. Hoover for a second opinion after another dental office had given us an outrageous treatment plan for our 6 year old. Dr. Hoover explained what we needed and didn't need and I felt that her recommendations for both myself and our daughter were reasonable and that she is not one to push unnecessary work on patients just to make a buck. All in all, Dr. Hoover is caring, easy to talk to, and trustworthy. I highly recommend!
