Great Staff. They make the dentist experience for my daughter fun, informative, and very inviting. Our hygienist took her time, showed my daughter the different tools that she would be working with and gave her multiple toothpastes when she did not like the one she had chosen the first 2 times. The whole staff seems to care about what they do.

A pediatric dentist that doesn't support breastfeeding -- yikes! I took my kiddo for a checkup at 18 mos, our first and only visit to this practice. She had no dental issues at the time (and continues not to). In spite of the fact that she got most of her calories by that point from a varied diet of solid foods and cow's milk, I got an extended lecture from the dentist about brushing or wiping her teeth after every single time she nursed. Not every time she ate, nor every time she drank cow's milk, but specifically after she breastfed. This is presumably based on a belief that human breastmilk is more cariogenic (cavity-causing) than cow's milk or other foods, but the best available data do not support that conclusion. "Breastfeeding between 13 and 23 months had no effect on dental caries." (Pediatrics (2017) 140 (1): e20162943) "It is concluded that human breast milk is not cariogenic." (Pediatr Dent 21:86–90, 1999) As such, I was extremely disappointed that a pediatric dentist would counsel a parent as though breastfeeding were uniquely dangerous to the patient's health. Especially in light of AAP, WHO, and other reputable health organizations advising that healthcare professionals should support breastfeeding up to 24 months. The staff were nice enough otherwise.

My child hates going to the dentist. In fact, she still hates going to the dentist! But even so- we both agreed that we're glad we found this practice. Every provider is so smart, so kind, and I always feel like they are truly only acting in our best interest. A major plus- the assistants are amazing. They explain everything to my daughter before it happens, don't talk over her etc. I really, really recommend.

So disappointed in Dr. Babot. We've been loyal to Austin Kids Teeth since Babot was their only dentist, over 20 years ago, and the office was on 290. We've never had a problem. . . until now. Although their policy is to take kids until they are 21, they have a receptionist now (Vanessa) that denied an appointment for our daughter because she had teeth cleanings with another dentist where she attends college (in a different state). That out-of-state dentist claimed she found a cavity and this surprised us because our daughter is meticulous about her dental care. So, I called Austin Kids Teeth to request an appointment during this winter break so she could look at the teeth to see if there is indeed a cavity. Although they had appointments available, Vanessa told me that Dr. Babot would not see our daughter any longer because she went to another dentist while out of state. This does not sound like the Dr. Babot that we've known for over 20 years. We asked for a quick consult, but Vanessa--in a somewhat rude tone--told us "no". We frantically searched for another dentist who could possibly give us a second opinion. I knew it would be difficult since we only had a 2-week span. A neighbor suggested Big Sky Family Dentist on La Crosse, so we drove there and asked them for an appointment. They were booked until April. When we told them the story, their receptionist was sympathetic and said she could work in an appointment for our daughter while she was in town since this is such a time sensitive issue. Wow!While the dentist we've visited for 20 years wouldn't bother to see our daughter because she went to an out-of-town dentist at college (even though they had availability), this new dentist was kind enough to make room in his schedule because they could see it was important to us.That says a lot about how much the dentists care about their patients, unfortunately.

We drive from Hutto to this dentist because they are amazing! The techs and doctors are all very attentive and communicate every step to my kids so that they are aware, comfortable, and secure in what’s happening. They talk to us instead of at us (like I’ve expierenced at other places) and really are attentive to any questions and concerns. My kids love Dr. Carr , and frankly, so do I.

Two of my kids have been going to Austin Kids Teeth ever since their teeth popped through their gums as babies. It's been over 15 years of excellent care from Dr. Babot and her amazing hygienists (thank you Carol!) and staff. Through these years, we've had a couple cavities filled, always with the gentlest care. Dr. Babot has always watched out for possible future dental care advice (braces, etc) in an honest way, telling us when a procedure is necessary or not. I highly recommend this Dental Clinic. I know that you will love them, just as much as we have.

In my opinion Dr Ella lacks competence ANDbedside manner. Even after an obvious error on her part she made me feel that it was my kid who was the problem. She had a hard time reading X-rays and ended up upsetting my child by loudlyannouncing a fracture that was not actually there. It was his first dental visit and he is young. He started wailing. Then she acted like he was overreacting. Just the worst hour I've had in so long.

A huge thanks to Dr. Melanie and Becky, the dental hygienist, who both have more patience than the Dali Llama. 😊 My daughter has sensory sensitivities, so going to the dentist can be a challenge. The lights can be too bright, climbing in the chair can be scary, the way the toothpaste tastes and feels can be very off putting, not to mention trying to sit still while someone you don’t know well - or at all - is putting their hands in your mouth, but Dr. Melanie and Becky know how to talk with children to develop a rapport and help ease their anxiety enough to complete a full dental check up. I am so thankful for Austin Kids Teeth! I already booked my daughter’s next check up. #SensoryProcessingDisorder #Anxiety #GoodDentists 😊

Dr. Babot was recommended to us by another dentist years ago, and we are glad we took the recommendation. We know her to be extremely knowledgeable, proficient, kind, and reasonable. The staff has always acted professional and courteous. We've been treated like individuals with individual needs and the practice has been accommodating when we've needed it!
