SERVICE: Recommended. The relatable staff talks to me like a client-individual. Dr. Praj (my primary for 6+ years) provides skillful, precise and mindful service w/ steady hands. Practice is out of my network (w/ some reimbursement from ins.). Fair, clear billing. It’s worth it for me to pay for HQ service from all staff at a “green practice.” (I had a past bad experience at *another practice w/ a rough dentist in a tight space.)SETTING: Thoughtful calming wellness space from leafy entrance, to reception w/ natural light and healthy plants, to treatment room (incl. dark glasses upon request for patient facing harsh lights and to avoid debris in the eyes). I’ve been going to Dr. Praj (Kumat) for about five years, after having a bridge fail and then having several bad experiences with other dentists. Because of a traumatic childhood accident, I’ve had to see a lot of dentists and oral surgeons over the past 50 years or so. Until I saw Dr. Praj, I’d never met a dentist or oral surgeon who treated me with such compassion and humanity. Her staff are also incredibly kind and competent. Dr. Praj and John, her assistant, are so in sync that they appear to read each other’s minds.The office itself feels like a spa. Instead of sterile and impersonal, the place feels warm and welcoming. The staff are friendly yet extremely professional. I feel seen as a whole person when I walk into that office.I have dental insurance but they don’t bill my insurance directly. They send a copy of the invoice to my insurance, but I pay for everything and get reimbursed later for the portion that’s covered. I do pay more because Dr. Praj is “out of network,” but it’s totally worth it. I’ll never go anywhere else for my dental care.

Had an amazing initial visit today at Transcendentist. Definitely the best, most comprehensive dental evaluation I’ve ever experienced. Everyone at the practice was impressive: friendly, professional, & competent. Dr. Prajakta Kamat (“Dr. Praj”) spent a long time walking through pictures of my teeth & explaining to me what those pictures show & mean. It’s hard to explain how impressive the system (Itero) is; it’s way beyond x-rays (though they also use x-rays). My dentist of many years recently retired. Though it will be an hour plus drive for me, I feel like I’ve found a new dental home.

As a person who has struggled with dental issues all my life I have been to a wide variety of dentists. Once I found Transcendentist I knew that I was finally in the care of a team of professionals who cared for me as a whole person.The compassion, kindness, and excellence of work shines throughout their entire team and has kept me coming back for years. I moved away a few years ago and I still travel to see them because they are the best dental practice I've ever been to. I would highly recommend Dr. Praj and Dr. Ruhi to anyone looking for dentists they can trust.

This was the best dental experience I've ever had! It was easy to get into this office's system. I had a broken filling, so luckily they found me a quick appointment! The office was unlike any dental office I've ever been to - warm, inviting, full of plants and deities, salt lamps, and diffusers. There was a wonderful color changing morphing fractal mandala on the display in the room too. I was in heaven!Upon arriving, I was made comfortable with a shot of strong herbal mouth wash, and a neck pillow. They took no x-rays since I was 6 months pregnant, and did a digital 3D scan instead.Dr Ruhi is amazing! She was so kind and gentle, and very thorough. I was given color therapy blue glasses (wish they were green or orange instead), and offered a blanket. I was also offered noise-cancelling headphones with music, and trips to the bathroom, which was very considerate.Dr Ruhi did a gum inspection to assess recession, and she was so tender, I barely felt it. She asked me what I felt about fluoride, and explained that if we use it, it will stop the cavity from spreading, and that it will not get in my blood stream or affect my pregnancy, which was my main concern. She assured me the fluoride will be sealed into the tooth. Dr Ruhi also educated me on ways to improve my tooth brushing and habits. She even gave me the brilliant idea to get a cordless waterpik and use it in the shower, to address my hesitation of cluttering up my bathroom countertop (genius!)When it was time to start my filling, she gave me the BEST anesthetic injection I've ever had, it wasn't very painful, and she was gradual with the injection. She said I may be sore later that day, or in a couple days where the injection was punctured, but I never got any soreness either!During the filling process, they checked in on me frequently, and without even asking, the tech John applied lip balm on my lips, which was soooo nice and considerate! ((I can't think of how many other conventional dentists I've been to who have stretched, cracked, and chapped my lips carelessly.))I felt NO pain during the entire filling process; the anesthetic was perfectly placed and dosed, and Dr Ruhi did an excellent job explaining what I might feel (pressure, vibration, etc).By the time I was finishing up payment (had to take a bottle of that lovely mouth wash with me), the numbness was already fading, and I was getting sensations back in my mouth - which is another testament to the wonderful anesthetic job she did. ((I've been to so many dental offices where they've injected it painfully and quickly, caused bruising and soreness, didn't numb the area adequately so I felt pain during the process, and then had to inject more anesthetic leaving me numb for HOURS later.))Dr Ruhi was very thorough with the bite-adjustment process (and so was I, to the best of my ability), and after a few tries, the bite alignment and height of my newly filled tooth is PERFECT!She showed me images of before and after my filling, and I have to say that the work she did easily made this tooth the most BEAUTIFUL tooth I have in my mouth.I was happily eating a big breakfast when I got home. I keep touching my newly filled tooth with my tongue, because it's so shapely and pleasing, smooth and perfect!I was informed I definitely need more work later after I give birth, which will need xray imaging, so we scheduled another visit in the future! I actually look forward to returning here! All in all, I had 3 people work on me: 2 techs, and Dr Ruhi - all were GENTLE, considerate, kind, and warm. THIS is how a dental experience should be, and it is the dental experience I will compare all future experiences with.15/10, would recommend!

Every time i have an appointment, i think it will be my last because the practice is very expensive- but every time, my experience is so positive- i make my next appointment. My dentist is smart and warm and cares about my comfort as well as my health. She is so competent- i find the appointments less and less scary, and not painful. Best dentist ive ever experienced ( and im an old lady🙂)

I wanted to write a review after I had been in the practice for a while, its been about a year or so.I have had multiple complex procedures done with both of the dentists here (extractions, crowns, large and involved fillings).The referral for my root canals was excellent as well.I arrived in particularly bad shape on account of our previous family dentist.Dr. Ruhi was very grounded in giving me the scope of my bad news. She suggested I get more opinions, and generally handled the whole interaction with grace and appropriateness, no finger wagging, no judgement.Based on the evidence she shared with me, and obvious respect for me as a human being, I decided to proceed with her and deal with the various issues at hand. The path to reinstating my dental health has been very successful. Both doctors in this practice worked with me.I found them not only to be very respecful and considerate at every turn, but also skilled and concise with treatment and solutions.I have sent my own therapy clients to them with great success, and am very confident in saying that these two doctors, and their staff, whom I could go on and on about, have become an important part of my life.They also dealt with my daughter's issues, stemming from our previous dentist, and saved her from multiple root canals. I was horrified to realize how poor our previous care had been, and it was a great relief to realize that there are people who practice medicine in our community that truly want to serve their patients and will go above and beyond when its called for.Thanks to this practice, our family is now in perfect dental health, and we owe it to the people at the Transcendentist practice, they're all wonderful.Oh, and the waiting room has a lovely South Asian touch, which immediately put me at ease.

Have always had good dental experiences up until recently. Previous dentist was v aggressive with cleanings, and also a bit derogatory! Took a while to find Trancendentist, and went on the reviews. They lived up to expectations! V pleasant experience from front desk throughout. Really happy to have found them and call them my new home for my teeth.

Great experience! Annisha and Brandon at the front / on the phone were very welcoming and supportive. Mariella was exceedingly kind and oriented me, explained everything along the way and took all my xrays and photos. Dr. Ruhi was wonderful, personable and made the process of getting teeth filled not too bad at all. The team at Transcendentist were able to get me in for a filling same day as the initial exam, which was amazing because I was experiencing a lot of pain prior. Teeth feel great now and I am so happy with my experience. I highly recommend :)

I had such a wonderful experience yesterday with Dr. Praj and her lovely staff. They made me feel comfortable and at home right from the start. Dr. Praj actually sat with me and talked to me for almost an hour not only about my teeth but my overall health. I’ve never had a dentist show that much care and empathy and actually listen to me instead of trying to sell me things. When I was anxious about an upcoming treatment she showed compassion and understanding and I left feeling confident that I am receiving the best care! Thank you Dr. Praj and staff!
