Over the past six months, I have had both tooth extraction and implant procedures performed by Dr. Torres at the Columbia location. She and the staff have always provided great service and information about each stage and what to expect. The facilities and equipment are very modern and clean. The office is easy to get to and there is plenty of parking. I am very pleased with the services that I have received and would highly recommend Columbia Center for Implants & Periodontics.

Please refrain from interacting with this office. There is a female doctor present in the room for less than five minutes. My dentist had sent me there specifically to have one tooth examined. After their examination, she returned with three different teeth that require extraction and implants without any explanation. The lack of mention of the tooth I was referred to was also noteworthy. Furthermore, they advised that my girls will be returning with a quote amounting to 15,000. I find it hard to believe that such a large quote has been quoted repeatedly. Always seek a second opinion.Scam Scam Scam

Oh you must go to Dr. Torres. She is a delight. We have a lot of work to do and she has a way of putting this very timid patient at ease. Dr. Torres is in this because she cares about your oral health, and that exudes from every pore. I’m looking forward to the work we have ahead because I confident I’m in excellent and very competent hands.

My experience thus far from Dr Jose and his team has been excellent. I am paranoid of dentist and Dr Jose has been very gentle and caring with the procedures he has done for me. My 1st surgery was June 29 for a bone graph and then another on July 15. The 1st time and 2nd time I had surgery, I received a follow-up call in the evening. The nurse was checking up to see how I was feeling and if I was having any discomfort and also to see if i had any follow-up questions. I want to thank Dr Jose and his team again. Very professional office.

This review deserved 0 stars bc of my interaction with Dr. Torres. I gave it 2 stars bc of Dr. Jose and how he managed this situation. Dr. Jose is a kind and patient centered MD. You can tell he cares about his practice and more importantly, his patients.Unfortunately though, Dr. Torres does not meet the same standards. During my interaction with her for my procedure she had extremely inappropriate conversations over me and did not once make me feel comfortable, even after I told her how anxious I was. I told my dentist about this experience and he said he would contact her to let her know how it went for me and try to make a game plan to make me more calm for the upcoming implant procedure. When I had my post op appointment with Dr. Torres (and after she spoke to my dentist), not only did I wait an hour to see her for a 5 min appt but she also was extremely rude, inconsiderate, confrontational and unprofessional. She told me that after she spoke to my dentist about my experience that I was lying and that I should call him back and tell him she wasn’t the problem. That day I called my dentists office and told them I refused to go back to her. I also contacted Dr. Jose ( the head of the practice) and he personally reached out to me to resolve the matter. Dr. Jose was sincerely apologetic and helpful during this situation and even offered to take me on as his own patient. Unfortunately, after receiving the care that I did from Dr. Torres I felt more comfortable leaving the practice all together and finding another doctor. If seeking out care from this facility I would recommend Dr. Jose and most definitely NOT Dr. Torres.

First, let me say that the office is beautiful from the ceiling to the floors! Very modern space age with “The Jetsons” vibe! The girls out front and the assistants were the perfect mix of professional and friendly, making us feel at ease. The doc explained things using a patient level vocabulary and our trust went thru the roof when he told us that his services wouldn’t be needed in the near future. He didn’t give us the feeling of being a money hungry vulture. The written estimate was far, far lower than the others and will absolutely be using them in the future!

Over the past several years I had lost a lot of my teeth. It become more noticeable when I began losing some of my frontal teeth. It looked really unattractive and it affected my self esteem and confidence. I could no longer smile. Luckily the COVID mask mandate helped me to use face masks to conceal the ugliness of my teeth. Now that the COVID mask mandate is lifted I can no longer continue to wear masks under that pretense. I realized that the solution would be dental implants. I went to several of the big name implant organizations but the costs were prohibitive. I finally went to the Columbia Center for Implants and Periodontics in Columbia,Maryland where Dr. Keyla Torres examined me and gave me the the estimated treatment plan and cost. I totally felt at ease with her. She has an attractive and appealing personality. When I learnt she was going to be the dental surgeon for my implants I quickly decided to go with them. She asked the account department to discount my cost which brought my balance several thousands of dollars cheaper than the other organizations I talked with.Long story short I went there and had my implants done. Dr. Torres was my doctor. She was so warm and friendly and yet professional in her treatment approach. Her staff was awesome and phenomenal. All the nurses and dentists there were very warm and made me feel at home. Their warming care and treatment seemingly boosted the anesthetics and made me feel less pain. They took a picture of my smile before and after the surgery. The picture of my smile after was unbelievably fantastic. I could not contain my emotions and spontaneously busted into some buga dance. I was pleasantly surprised as Dr. Torres and his nursing team joined me in the dance as we all celebrated the beautiful transformation of my smiles. The most impressive part of it all was the follow up calls. Dr. Torres and the nurses called several times to check on me after I returned home. That’s Total, Loving and Comprehensive Dental Care.

Visiting the Periodontist sometimes tends to be when a dental disaster is developing or trying to prevent a dental disaster. It is already a stressful situation but Dr. Chon and the amazing staff are what make things so much more bearable and easier to deal with. They have a fantastic front office staff, who are very responsive, organized, and precise. Their records system is digital so any documentation, imaging, etc can be easily emailed. Cuts down on any delays in coordinating or updating primary dentists. The 3D scan isn't always covered by insurance and can be $320 but worth every penny when you need answers, especially since it's a one-time fee so if you ever need imaging in the future for other issues it's already covered. Regular x-rays can pick things up but the 3D scan gives additional imaging details that x-rays can miss because having an answer and having the most complete answer is a whole world of difference. It can pick up and distinguish a small tooth/bone shard, whereas regular x-rays being one-dimensional, isn't going to detect it when it is masked by more teeth/bone behind it.
