I’ve been a patient at Victory Smiles (Antoine) office for several years, primarily due to its convenient location in my neighborhood. Unfortunately, I feel compelled to share my recent experience during my son’s appointment on July 2nd, which was extremely disappointing. From the moment the assigned dentist entered the room, his demeanor was noticeably unfriendly and unprofessional. He did not introduce himself to me, nor did he acknowledge my 8-year-old son when he politely said “hi.” His facial expressions and body language gave the impression that he did not want to be there. This experience was a stark contrast to the care we’ve previously received from Dr. Pham, who was always kind and welcoming. The dentist on this occasion seemed impatient and made no effort to put my son at ease. He proceeded with the procedure without explaining anything or offering any reassurance. When my son showed signs of discomfort, the dentist abruptly stopped and said, “I can’t do this. I don’t want to hurt him,” then instructed the assistant to consult the front desk about sedation—without further communication with me or my son. Rather than attempting to calm or work with my son, the staff’s solution was to recommend sedation and add an additional $100 charge. This felt more like a convenience for the dentist than a necessary step for my child’s well-being. Based on this experience, I no longer feel confident in the care provided at this office—particularly for pediatric patients. I will be seeking treatment elsewhere with a provider who is more skilled in working with children and genuinely values patient care over profit.
