Warm staff, thorough exams, and dental hygiene guidance. 10/10, I highly recommend!

Dr. Rickerby, Geraldine, Marilyn, are the freakin best! They are super friendly, and very intentional on the service they provide with regards to dental health care. It’s a very welcoming and warm environment, somewhat of a family feel. Myself and my 11yr old son are patients with Journal Square Dental, and we are so happy to find a great dentist such as Rickerby and his awesome team! KUDOS GUYS, KEEP UP THE GREAT JOB!!

Dr. Rickerby doesn't know what he's doing and is money-hungry. Caused my mom to have teeth pain and teeth sensitivity when she never had that before.

My time here visiting Dr. Rickerby and his staff for what seemed to be my dental journey has been nonetheless an amazing and seamless experience. Although no one is crazy about going to the dentist, when you have a team that you know you can count on, is always attentive and can work with your schedule, it’s almost impossible to dislike the dentist. Dr. Rickerby’s professionalism and sense of humor always makes you feel at ease and his overall staff exceeds to accommodate to each and every patient with exceptional service. I can’t thank them enough for always welcoming me and being the support system I needed throughout this journey. I went here for the first time today for a regular check up / cleaning. The front desk ladies were extremely nice and friendly, the staff in general were friendly. However they let me know at first that my insurance doesn’t cover an oral cancer screening as well as this other thing. But that they would check my teeth first and let me know if I need it before doing it. I go back and do the regular check up stuff and the lady says she’s going to take additional pictures, I specifically asked if this was the additional screening for cancer and she said no, it’s part of my check up. I clarified again that I can’t pay anything extra for this appointment and she reassured me that it’s included. I then went to the hygienist for my cleaning, she was really rough and literally sprayed my whole face the whole treatment with water and toothpaste. Then afterward she told me about the fluoride treatment (not covered) as well as the oral screening. I told her again politely that I can’t do either of those this time and she tells me I already got the oral screening. She then seems very upset that I’m refusing treatment and says they highly recommend it and giving me attitude about saying no. She leaves to go talk to them again leaving me to wait again. Comes back and tells me okay I don’t have to pay this time because I didn’t know so I say okay thank you. She takes me to the front and doesn’t tell the front desk anything because they tried to charge me for it again— to which I had to clarify for the third time my situation. I understand one person doesn’t make the whole practice but it’s frustrating to be pushed into treatments I can’t afford and then being met with attitude when I politely say no. They were polite and friendly but I wouldn’t go here again for the fact they seem to want to scam you for your money. That doesn’t sit right with me. Edit: one week after my dentist appt I’m updating my review from 3 stars to 1 star. Ever since my dentist appointment which was just a cleaning my teeth have been hurting.

A genuine pleasure dealing with everybody at the office. As a wheelchair user from an SCI, I've usually had fairly negative experiences with dentist offices. Mostly due to the inaccessibility of most practices. Being that it's so difficult to find an office that I can actually get into as well as transfer into the treatment chair I am extremely grateful that it is so easy for me to receive care at journal square dentistry. Besides the fact that I can get into the office easily into the treatment area easily and with a little bit of maneuvering safely, transfer myself via transfer board onto the treatment chair. Everybody in the office is always willing to compassionately lend a helping hand. There is definitely much room for improvement for office designs in the dental industry to accommodate wheelchair users, but I can honestly say this is the best of the six or seven practices I have seen since my injury.

I have a long time fear and anxiety with dentist visits and I can say that my experience at Journal Square dental was pleasant, welcoming, and supportive. The staff (Geraldine, Amanda, Claudia, and Marilen) were an absolute pleasure. We had built a seamless relationship as soon as I scheduled my appointment. Dr. Rickerby himself was a trusted clinician and I will surely come back to him as long as I can. If anyone doesn't believe this is an unbiased review I would welcome a more detailed referral.
