Denver Smiles

Had a fantastic experience with Dr. Rugova and Denver Smiles. The staff was friendly and very competent and Dr. Rugova was thorough and gentle. I felt well taken care of from start to finish.

After searching for a new dentist in the area, I read one of the reviews for Denver Smiles and was reminded of my recent experience and felt obligated to comment. I needed a crown and while Dr. Slota performed some of the work, most of it was completed by an associate. The crown fits poorly, primarily because it leaves a sizeable gap between it and the tooth behind it. Almost every single time I eat, food gets stuck in that gap creating a very uncomfortable feeling (not to mention the hygiene aspect of rotting food stuck in my mouth) until I floss/brush it out. After a few months of suffering, I had my teeth cleaned, I complained about the crown, the hygienist agreed it was very ill fitting (I remarked you could drive a truck through the gap and she agreed), and asked about getting it replaced. Since Dr. Slota was not in the office at the time, the hygienist and another dentist on duty (not the one who did the majority of the work on the crown) said they'd need to talk to Dr. Slota about working out a deal to replace the crown and that I would receive a call from the office in the next day or two. That call never came. I've been a patient of Dr. Slota's since the mid 90s when he was downtown in the Central Bank building. He's a very competent dentist and previously did a nice job on a different crown. However, he now runs his office like a dental college/training environment where the individuals doing the work are a lot less talented, in my opinion. I will not be going back and continue to try and identify a new dentist that is competent and does all of the work themselves.

I let the good reviews sway me into this practice. Dr Slota is good but he allowed a "dentist" to do a crown and it was a nightmare. I was in pain for one year and had repeatedly gone back in to the practice to get this reconciled to no avail. Slota took responsibility by admission that the "dentist" was not good and no longer working at the practice. That was good for him, not for me. I paid for the botched crown and Slota did refer me to a dentist who did a root canal ( which I learned was needed from the start) and I had to go to my new dentist for the crown. Slota did not help with these costs. Now, I received a bill from one year ago for services from going in to get resolution around this nightmare. I decided to let the person looking at these reviews to have a perspective from this patient. Beware. It's not all good at this practice.

I love Denver Smiles! Everyone is so friendly and the doctors are so thorough. They listen to my concerns and give advice to prevent problems in the future. Highly recommend!

Who loves going to the dentist in the first place? Well visiting this practice the past several months might have convinced me that dental care isn't that bad. Form the front office staff to the compassion and professionalism form the care staff hands down some of the very best in the profession. My recemt experience with Jess my dental hygienist had been the best. She took the time to explain and walk me through every step, ensuring I was comfortable and well taken care of. Her level of care was top notch! Thank you Jess and the staff at Denver Smiles for the care you've provided me. I will be back with a smile.

I've been coming here for the last 6 years and I can't say enough good things about the staff in general. Highly skilled and great people through and through. Dr. Slota has been a godsend to me and even though I personally struggle with keeping my teeth perfect and have had a lot of work done, he and his staff are always there to put my mind at ease and help me through options while getting done what needs to get done. Denver Smiles helped me get my smile back together! I hadn't been to the dentist in many years and with the help of Jessica and others in the office, I have been able to overcome bleeding gums, etc, and feel more confident to come into the dentist each time! I absolutely LOVE the team at Denver Smiles! They were referred to me when I moved to Denver due to my extensive dental care needs, I am in the office quite a few times a year and the entire team makes me feel like part of the family. Dr. Slota is great, Jess is an excellent hygienist, and the entire team is so sweet and welcoming. I highly recommend!!! I should add I have been a patient for 10+ years and will continue to be one!
