Segal and Iyer Orthodontics

I have been going to Segal & Iyer ever since I was 7 years old. My smile is transformed and being a patient has had a tremendous impact on my career as well. I was fortunate to shadow and work with Dr. Iyer for a few years. Learning at the practice has been an invaluable experience, and further motivated me to pursue dentistry. I will be attending Penn Dental Medicine this fall, and could not thank the team at Segal and Iyer Orthodontics for the support they have given me to get to where I am, I couldn’t have done it without them!

I took my eight-year-old to Dr. Iyer for overcrowded teeth, and despite the challenging diagnosis, her vision for my son's smile was evident from the beginning. After two treatments spanning a few years, the results were outstanding. Impressed, I later took my twin girls to her. Even my husband, who had long struggled with a bite issue despite prior orthodontic treatment, found relief under Dr. Iyer's care within months. At 50, I decided to undergo orthodontic treatment for the first time, and the results were equally impressive. Over the span of 15 years, my family received exceptional care from this practice, which felt more like an extended family. With top-notch doctors, caring staff, and a culture of kindness, they provided the best service possible. Dr. Iyer's influence motivated one of my daughters to pursue a dental degree at an Ivy League dental school.

On a scale of 1-5 I would have to give Segal and Iyer 25 stars. Four years ago, at 47 years old, I decided to get braces for the second time in my life. I was told that I was going to require surgery at least once to widen my upper jaw for pallet expansion and there was a possibility of having a second surgery down the road to correct my teeth and bite. I went all in after researching Segal and Iyer and meeting with Dr Iyer. I knew it was going to be a longer process, but I trusted Dr Iyer 100 percent.I was amazed by the entire staff at Segal and Iyer. Everyone was upbeat, friendly, personable and caring. It seemed like no one every had a bad day there. Visit after visit this was consistent. They really understand customer service. Anytime I had an issue with my braces, they got me in asap.I was supposed to get my braces put on and pallet expander taken out but that was delayed by Covid 19. They adapted beautifully and got my braces put on. I required a second surgery in order to have a better bite and they were supportive and cheerful throughout the process.It took 11 more months after the second surgery to get my braces off and teeth where they needed to be. I trusted Dr Iyer's vision for me. Every time I looked in the mirror at my teeth I wondered how is she going to get these teeth corrected.I just had my braces taken off today and almost cried when I saw the final product. I will be wearing my retainer.I also wanted to add that Dr Iyer and Val both pictured are NY Giants fans, and I enjoyed the banter and conversation with them about football. They know what they are talking about.I do want to shout out Dr Iyer, Val and Bonnie for making the last 4 years enjoyable. Never a bad visit. There were plenty of other people at Segal and Iyer that were a part of the process, but I am not great with names. Everyone was great!I was always self-conscious about my teeth and today I cannot stop smiling. Easily the best investment I have ever made. I could not recommend them any higher.You are the best investment you will ever make. -Robin S Sharma
