Modern Orthodontics - 125th Street

Our son’s front (adult) teeth weren’t coming in. We thought he would have to go through an invasive and expensive procedure to encourage their arrival. Dr. Romao thought otherwise and came up with a very non-invansive and inexpensive solution that worked. We’ve also had both of our kids going through Invisalign and Dr. Cooperman has been great and very communicative through this process. A great practice.

Modern Orthodontics is a trusted, caring, understanding and compassionate site. Their team is beyond professional and they take great care of you and make sure that you are pleased with your smile. I was recommended by a friend of mine, and I am still thanking her to date. I have recommended friends of mine as well and always will. I have only positive things to say about Modern Orthodontics and all of it’s staff. I am 1000% satisfied with their expertise. Thank you all at Modern Orthodontics for such an excellent service.

Our first time and the experience was amazing. As soon as we called to schedule the appointment I knew this place was the right choice. Both ladies in the front desk are very knowledgeable and friendly. Dr. Cooperman makes you feel very comfortable and is very nice. Christina explained to my son and I the braces process and was very detailed, providing us with everything we needed to know. We are happy to now be a part of Modern Orthodontics.

This is my first experience with an orthodontist practice and it has been pleasant. My doctors are great! They keep me informed of my treatment plan and progress and answer my questions in a patient and friendly manner. The assistants and support staff are always friendly and professional. They run on time! I’m not sure if it was that way pre-pandemic but it’s the most timely office I’ve ever visited. I’m always in and out without feeling shorted on care or like my appointment was rushed. I love getting quality and affordable care in my neighborhood.

Amazing experience at Modern Orthodontics this week.Their covid precautions made me and my kids feel very safe. Dr. Romao sat with us and explained the treatment plan to both kids and made them feel a part of the treatment decision making. The kids felt comfortable asking questions and Dr. Romao was amazing and engaging with them. The office is organized and the staff is very kind, knowledgeable and efficient. I am a dentist and am extremely discerning in the referrals I choose for my patients as well as my own family. Dr. Romao and Dr. Cooperman are my favorite orthodontists in Manhattan.

My experience here has been great through every appointment! My son and I both have decided to have our braces done here.After seeing the transformation with my sons teeth I knew this was the place for me. Love the staff very professional friendly ,patient and very welcoming. Dr Cooperman is awesome,he’s very detailed listened carefully to my concerns and has made my dental experience great. I will continue to recommend 125 ortho to everyone I’m always asked about the transformation about my teeth, As well as my sons.

The doctor is literally the nicest and most patient individual in dentistry the dentistry field I've ever met, and that's saying something since I've been to almost a dozen practices the last couple of years between dentists and orthodontists. She was extremely patient with my questions and best of all solved the leftover issue from my last orthodontist. There were details the stuff wasn't sure of, but they actually bothered to check when it happened. Scheduling was extremely quick as well as I was able to get a same day appointment. All in all, I'm very impressed.

The office and doctors are pleasant but it's been 3 weeks since my daughter got her braces and already 3 brackets fell off. My daughter said, it felt rushed when the dr. put them on and a week later one fell off. Well now we are in week 3 and another 2 fell off. I don't know if it was just because it was rushed or the quality of the glue used to adhere to the teeth is cheap.

I am updating my review. I am giving this place a two start. They are not patients' center and it is all about making the money and getting you out. Both of my sons are receiving service here. My youngest son finish his treatment and they provided him a final pair of retainers. A week after receiving it the bottom retainer broke. I contacted them and explained. Their solution was that I have pay $200 at that moment for a new retainers. I thought this was unfair because he has just finish his treatment. Spent months trying to get them to eliminate the fee. We got a consult for them to tell me that so much time has passed and now the cost is about $500 for a pair of new retainers. I spoke to the owner and top odonatologist (Dr. Romao ). She showed no empathy or concern on how this was handled. Apparently, there was no history of all my phone calls with them during the time raising my concerns. So be careful and make sure you check your retainers when finishing your treatment. My son never had any problem or broke any aligners during his treatment. I am sure this retainer was defective or damage. I am going to pay $600 the replacement that the outcome.

The doctors are great, but the front desk needs to get it together. First, the receptionists had no idea when I could pick up my retainer (I was told two weeks and four weeks; I was told I need to make a follow up appointment and then was told none was necessary). The next time I came in, the front desk and I set up another appointment for January—I just got an email from 125th Street Orthodontics saying the follow up meeting is in December (how do you mix up the months? Were you even listening?) I'm very disappointed in my disorganized and unprofessional experience with the receptionists.
