I wanted a dentist that looked like me because of the many bad experiences I've had with dentists in the past. Dr. Messiah and his staff exceeded my expectations! From my initial phone call with coordinator Blandine, to her bright smile and personable demeanor once I arrived! I was the first patient of the day and instead of Dr. Massiah being secluded in his office like other dentists, he was in the waiting room awaiting my arrival and greeted me with "good morning", a warm welcoming smile and escorted me to the exam room. He has a gentle touch, was very thorough, listened to my concerns and questions and spoke in terms that were easy to understand... after my exam with Dr. Massiah I was seen by hygienist Afua and she too was awesome! I knew she was something special when she offered Vaseline for my lips before the cleaning!!! I have my teeth cleaned every 6-12 months and never has a hygienist offered to moisturize my lips! Her attention to detail is outstanding! She is very thorough and spent 45 minutes cleaning my teeth!!! I've never had such a thorough cleaning! All the other's were done in 15-20 minutes.... I ended my visit with Blandine who offered to schedule my visit with an offsite oral surgeon, told me the best days to drive there and which days are best to use public transit and even directed me to the nearest subway cause Google had me doing a lot of unnecessary walking smh.... I always had anxiety when it's time to visit the dentist but this has been the best experience I ever had and I am actually looking forward to my next visit! I wish Dr. Massiah and his team longevity and many blessings!

I had a wonderful experience at the Smiles on the Upper Westside. The staff, especially the front desk individual were exceptional. Dr. Narain, the dentist who extracted my teeth exhibited the utmost professionalism. He made me comfortable as he moved with precision to remove my teeth. I received excellent attention and service from the peridontalist who attended to my gums and from the assisting very capable dental assistant. Dr. Massiah oversaw the whole operation carefully. The woman at the desk skillfully planned my next visits as I get my new crown put in place. There was excellent co-ordination among the entire staff.

Where do I start, I had a fantastic experience at Smiles on the Upper West Side. The welcoming atmosphere set the tone, the lady at the front desk is incredibly warm and friendly. The dentist, Dr. Shaun Massiah, took the time to thoroughly review my intake form, asking relevant questions and making me feel valued as a patient. The X-ray process was seamless, and what truly impressed me was their flexibility in accommodating me for a cleaning on the same day. The entire team is committed to providing excellent patient care. I highly recommend this practice for their exceptional service and friendly professional staff.

I'm looking forward to my next visit. Everyone is kind, friendly, professional, and they really make you feel like you're part of their family. They also take good care of you as well as your mouth. Your "smile" is in good hands no matter if you live on the upper Westside, Eastside, Bronx, Queens or wherever. This place is worth your time getting there. I'm looking forward to my next visit.

Dr Massiah and his team are fantastic. They provide expert care with warmth and humor and kindness. For the first time ever, we really look forward to going to the dentist! Dr Massiah is thoughtful and careful and is always delightful to talk to. I highly recommend this practice. We love this place - the people in particular are exceptional!

Not my favorite place to go but definitely hands down my favorite dental office. Great and friendly staff and a outstanding team of clinicians. I have never been more put at ease at a dental or doctor’s office for that matter than I have at Smiles. Getting the work done and being sensitive to your well-being is no easy task. Smiles gets it right as policy.

I have been working with Dr. Massiah on an extensive dental program for two years now (we’ve got roughly another 6 months to the finish line). I originally chose his practice due to proximity, as I live on the UWS, and honestly it was serendipitous. His practice is excellent.Dr. Massiah himself is a gregarious and affable individual, who does a fantastic job of putting his patients at ease. He is a wonderful communicator who thoroughly details the steps of the program as they unfold, and is able to communicate them well in layman’s terms. He is with you for every step of your journey, and honored to be there.The office and staff are also superb. Clean, friendly, caring and flexible - I wouldn’t hesitate to get any and all dental care here. Smiles on the UWS has certainly set the bar for dentistry in NYC.

Love this dentist! The staff are so friendly and accommodating and the doctors are knowledgeable in the latest dentistry methods and science and very friendly. They really make you feel like you're a part of the Smiles family! I've had excellent work here--from cleanings to crowns and they seriously helped me with jaw pain by creating a splint appliance for wearing at night.
