I was scheduled by my dentist to Endodontic associates of Illinois in oak Brook last Thursday as she suspected a crack on the tooth and wasn't sure deep the crack had gone. I was in severe pain (the whole right side of my face was in pain for about 2 weeks). I was lucky enough to get an appointment at 7.45am the next day. I was nervous at first but the front office staff made me feel comfortable as they walked me thru the registration process. I was told to do a 3D scan. Dr. Pillai checked the scan and ran a few other tests and confirmed i would need root canal therapy for my tooth and he would be doing the procedure. He actually created time in-between his other appointments to help relieve me of my pain (ever so grateful to him) and asked if I could wait for a little while since he had back to back appointments that day. Of course I agreed - anything to get me out of my pain and mysery. I was kept in the OT room and Dr. Pillai was shuttling inbetween his appointments taking care of me as well. The procedure went well and I absolutely was taken very good care by him and his team. He was patient gentle and very professional. I had a excellent experience and felt I was in good hands and didn't have to worry. It's a few days since the procedure now and I feel so well. Dr. Pillai was excellent and I recommend anyone who has a need for root canal therapy to see him without any hesitation. You will be in good hands. Thank you Dr. Pillai.

Just had my second root canal. I would never go any place other than the offices of Dr. John Pawluk. He did an excellent job and it really didn't hurt at all. The procedure and the office are efficient, he made me as comfortable as possible, and it was in and out in an hour. A real plus is the numbing agent he uses. It numbs the area before he uses the heavier duty stuff so no pain. The office staff is professional and friendly. If you have to have a root canal, I'd go this route.

The office requires patients to write their credit card number on a piece of paper prior to any procedure. If you refuse, they require you to pay the entire bill upfront and will refund your money when they get reimbursed by your insurance company.I asked how can I be assured that my credit card information would be secured, but they could provide no assurance of security.

This was my first visit for a root canal. I was very impressed with all the high tech equipment. It remined me of my robotic heart surgery. It was a painless procedure even though my tooth had 4 roots. Dr. Pawluk told me what was going to happen and proceeded to work with his assistant providing the many various instruments required. It was so professional no hesitations. Day 2 and still no pain like it never happened. I still remember what a friend quoted me many years ago. Ignore your teeth and they will go away.

I had a root canal and tooth pulled on the same day and Dr. Pawluk and staff were awesome! They made a not so fun thing painless and easy. Everything was so detailed and easy to follow for both pre and post operation steps, and I healed great. Everyone is so friendly, and super helpful if I ever need to call and ask questions. I would recommend Dr. Pawluk and this staff/office to anyone needing dental work done!

Went in with a throbbing toothache knowing I was going for a root canal. The anticipation of the ordeal had my mind rattled, and fear on level 10. I was expecting to be there for about 2 hours, since that's always been my experience with root canals. Dr Pawluk came in, gave the shots, which weren't bad at all, and got to work. I was out of there within 45 min, PAINLESS!! I couldn't believe it, and highly recommend him! Staff is also very lovely.

I consider myself a high tolerance and endurance of pain. The last 3 out of 5 visits to him testified that.On those occasions, in mid-stream drilling to fix my root, my body literally jump from my seat. Somehow the localized anesthetic wasn't enough and my natural body reacted to it.The straw that broke the camel's back was my most recent visit while waiting for the anesthetic to kick in, I rubbed my tongue on that tooth and noticed that I can still feel sensation which I bought to his attention. His answer was "I am not drilling your tongue" and proceeded ahead totally ignoring my feedback.Sure enough, my body jumped again mid-stream. No apologies, no explanation but he finally resorted to numb me further. What I saw was his ego kicking in, not just this time but it has been consistent throughout all of my visits, Dr Pawluk, if you're reading this. Just remember, we are humans. You and I make errors in our career, decisions, or relationship one time or another. But when we must do is at these times is to hang our ego at the door as we learned from each incident.Doesn't appear you want that and worst still, you showed no respect for your customer/patient. And when that happens, each of us must find the courage to walk away from any relationships (be it attorney to client, doctor to patient or manager to staff) if respect is no longer being served.Hopefully current and future patients know what you are dealing with and who you are walking into. All the best.
