I had a great first experience at Palo Alto Smiles! My hygienist was very personable and considerate. The doctor was very knowledgeable and thoroughly explained everything to me when reviewing my x-rays and addressing my concerns. All other staff were very friendly and accommodating!I’m quite picky when it comes to my dental care given past dental trauma as a child. I would recommend this practice to anyone, and especially those who place importance on being heard and gently cared for!

Dr. Rastakhiz is a skilled, experienced, knowledgable and thoughtful dentist. During the pandemic he really helped me prioritize the care I needed, which helped me out quite a bit.Update: At this point I’ve been with this practice for many years. Service and work is always of the highest quality, highly recommended.

I am with this doctor Rastakhiz dental office for about a year now and I continue to be amazed! Every one working there (Dr Rastakhiz, hygienist Maria, Rochelle in the office and dental assistant Marcel) is so great in what they do, professional and nice. I never experienced pain or discomfort during procedures. My crown feels and fits perfectly. Rochelle takes care of dealing with insurance and billing. She explains everything clearly before presenting you with a bill. Whenever possible she will apply discount without me asking for it !This office has all the newest amazing equipment I didn’t even know it exist!I am in a process of straightening my teeth with invisileligln. I am on my third tray, and I don’t experience much discomfort, just some pressure on first two days, which can radiate to other parts of the scull beyond the jaws.I wanted to straighten my teeth because my bait is crooked and I kept chipping my front teeth. They were “patched” so many times and still they were new chips over and over.I was ashamed in the past to smile in public because I had so many issues with my teeth but they look better already. I am looking forward to final results and I have trust in doctor R that my teeth will look beautiful 😁!

I just had the most comfortable filling. Ever. This was an appointment to replace an old amalgam filling and swap it for a composite filling. Doctor has such a gentle touch that he didn't even need to numb me to drill the old filling out. I was in and out in under an hour, no discomfort at all. They take before and after photos, and take time to explain what is going on with each part of treatment. The whole staff is awesome, Maria is really gentle hygienist too.

Most people don’t like going to the dentist but if you go to Palo Alto Smiles, you might just like it! Dr. Rastakhiz and his entire staff are wonderful ! They all are very nice and caring and extremely good and their jobs. I have a good experience every time I go even if i am having a crown put on. Dr. Rastakhiz takes his time to explain what needs to be done and never seems in a hurry!! I highly recommend this place because I am sure you will have as good of experience there as I have had at every single one of my visits!!!

Very excited I found this dental office! Everyone is super friendly, made me feel very welcome and were able to fit me in quickly to help me repair a chipped tooth.Being kind is one thing, but on top of that they broke down home care technique to help me prevent damage, provided product suggestions, & not only suggested ortho but showed me with a 3d render of the difference it could have on my teeth and gave me an estimate for how long it would take.I’ve never left a dentist office feeling excited to come back, but I can honestly say I look forward to my next visit!Thanks guys 😁

I first went to Dr. Rastakhiz around Sep'22 after confirming that they take Delta Dental insurance. I subsequently went there for deep cleaning in November when they charged me $304 for 2 quadrants. I continued to visit him for other treatments and was very confused about why I'm paying so much co-pay. I asked them repeatedly if they are in network for Delta and the lady at the front always said yes.Then my wife went there in Jan'23 and the same exact treatment for the 2 quadrants cost her $786. See the attached image!! It's unbelievable! She called them a couple of times and every time they promised to call her back but they never did. Finally, my wife was able to get a hold of them today when they finally told her they are not part of Delta Dental.I called Delta and they confirmed that Dr. Rastakhiz left the network in Oct'22. But they never told us and we've ended up paying *thousands* of dollars out of pocket!! I have lodged a grievance with Delta Dental. They told me that out-of-network dentists can charge whatever they like that's why it's important to always go to Delta website to confirm if the dentist is participating or not.---Update on 3/17/23: Dr. Rastakhiz told me this was a billing mistake on their part and he'll reimburse any extra money they have charged beyond what Delta would have covered. I have since received a check from his office. I appreciate the swift resolution.

I appreciate this dental office so much when I come in after working. With a name change and insurance challenges, the staff have been so helpful and patient. I feel safe and heard when I have come for appointments. The dentist is respectful and gives valuable feedback for me to take better care of my teeth and I don't feel shamed for forgetting to floss! We all have lives and the staff at this office are kind and welcoming. The music is calm and relaxing. I always feel like I can share as well as ask questions. Highly recommend!

I finally found my favorite dental group in the Bay area. I recently visited Dr. Rastakhiz's office for a semi-urgent issue with one of my teeth. I found Dr. Rastakhiz and his team very professional, patient, attentive, and truly kind. Dr. Rastakhiz spent a lot of time with me explaining the complication with my teeth and all the possible treatments that could potentially resolve it, and he made sure to answer all my questions very patiently. I find all the technicians, hygienists, and even the receptionist at Dr. Rastakhiz's office very professional and nice.In the past couple of years, I've been putting off my regular dental check-up because of a negative experience that I had with a different dental group in a different place. But, after visiting Dr. Rastakhiz's office, now I really like to regularly go back and make sure that I take good care of my teeth with the help of Dr. Rastakhiz's group.
