Sierra Smiles

This place has great service, but it is a money making racket. Great place to go if insured but not if you’re uninsured.They charge uninsured patients more than double what they charge to insurance companies. That’s right, they rip off uninsured patients for an amount more than double what insurance values the service at.Then they try to sell anyone who has ever felt a bit tired a ten thousand dollar (unproven, uninsurable) solution to their problems.They do a good job with dental services and patient care, but I left feeling unsure whether I do need a small cavity filled or if they just wanted to be able to charge me $400 for a quick procedure.

Dr. Archer was not only thorough and careful but she took all my past experiences into consideration and made sure I was as comfortable as I possibly could be. I've been looking for someone that made me feel like my comfort was paramount and was willing to go the extra step to make sure I wasn't filled with anxiety. In my entire life, I've never left a dental office without crying until yesterday. Every person in the office is kind and considerate as well as welcoming. I will never go to another dentist in my life. I would travel hours to come back here. When they say overall health care, they mean it. Dr Archer and her assistant, Angolece, are absolutely fabulous. If I could give 100 stars, I would.

So I already have always loved going to the dentist, but coming here has made me enjoy it so much more. Always friendly service from everyone. These guys have really helped get my teeth and gums healthy at a fair price.*UpdateI decided with my dentist to use SureSmile trays to help align my teeth and reduce crowding. 6 months after completing the set I am quite pleased with the results. Flossing is so much easier and I've found my dental hygiene to be easier to maintain.*UpdateEveryone from reception, to the hygienists, to checkout is always vedy welcoming, friendly, and appreciative. We have been patients of Sierra Smiles for many years! They have always been friendly, accommodating, and thorough! I recently had a nasty toothache and they got me in the same day and took care of my issue with the same professionalism and excellent care that I’ve experienced time and time again! Most all the dentists I have dealt with in my past; prior to Sierra Smiles; were good in what they did; but nowhere near the level that this friendly and professional staff have demonstrated to me with each visit! I've been a loyal patient for several years and, for the most part, haven't had any issues. However, that changed when I woke up to go to my appointment in December and discovered I was running a fever. I called the office to let them know that I was not feeling well and needed to cancel. Please keep in mind this was my first time canceling the day of since being established. The girl on the phone felt it was appropriate to tell me that the next time I call to cancel without a 48-hour notice, they will be charging me a $100 fee. I proceeded to tell the girl that you can't predict when you are going to wake up ill nor could I have given any more "notice". As a patient, I felt that was uncalled for and completely inappropriate. Now, if I am ever sick on the day of my appointment again and cannot give 48-hour notice, I will have to pay $100. Turns out, I had the flu and was terribly sick that day. Go figure. So you're welcome for not going into your office and spreading the virus.

I so appreciate how caring and helpful everyone is in this office. I had 2 tooth emergencies in the last year, each ending in an implant. The upper molar extraction and implant was challenging as I have a small mouth and the tooth was waaaaaay back there. Dr Ricciardi, the Implant Specialist and Crystal, his Assistant were very patient and supportive. Any sign of anxiety and they backed out of my mouth and gave me a break. The 2nd implant was an incisor, a tiny tooth that broke high in the gum. The team got me in the same day with Dr. Vong, my Primary Dentist, who evaluated the break and confirmed there was no infection. Whew! I was in with Dr. Ricciardi the following week for a same day implant and an Essex Retainer (created by Dr. Vong), which kept me smiling with out a "gap". I love the 3D imaging for crowns etc. So fast! I am so grateful for the entire Sierra Smiles team; those mentioned above as well as Rachel, the Treatment Coordinator who is always available, and the ever smiling front office staff!

Just left the office and what a great experience. From the time that I called to checkout all went smoothly. Dr McLennan and his dental assistant were excellent. Just moving into town I wasn’t sure what to expect. This office came highly recommended now I’m recommending highly! I have been going to this dentist for nearly a decade and they are the best. Heated, scented neck pillows, paraffin wax hand dips, fresh cookies - they really go above and beyond for their patient’s comfort. Katie has been my hygienist consistently and I am always so happy to see her. She is very thorough, professional and helps me take great care of my teeth. Couldn’t recommend Sierra Smiles more!

I was a little anxious as I have been going to the same dentist for years, but they were amazing! Friendly staff, above and beyond. Dr. McShosh was kind and informative, not in a rush. The hygienist, Lino, was very careful around sensitive areas and super personable. I would highly recommend this office if you’re looking for quality care with a friendly crew.

Clean and respectable dentist office with a very friendly and caring staff and Doctors. Every time I go my visit is stress free and relaxing which is a big flex for dentistry! All my worries and needs in regard to everything teeth and health is addressed and your wait time after your checked in is never very long. I was recommended this place and have not regretted it. I drive there from fernley!
