I had gone into this procedure with many worries from previous experiences with dental work. To say Dr. Shelton exceeded my expectations is an understatement. Dr. Koshgerian is top-notch. I was referred to him by Dr. Racic for an infected molar extraction and implant prep. He got me in right away, removed the tooth, and prepped for the implant—all with zero pain during the procedure and minimal recovery pain. Couldn’t ask for better care or precision. I had been dealing with the severe pain from an infected, fractured tooth for several days. Getting other Doctors to help quickly was like pulling teeth (ba da bun ting) haha... So here is the story, buckle up. I had a referral put in to an oral surgeon near me but he happened to be out of the office for the rest of the week. My boss saw how much pain I was in and recommended The Oral Surgery & Dental Implant Specialists. I called at 1pm and Sarah was a Rock Star from jump. She had more of a sense of urgency than all other offices I contacted... Even me for that matter. Rather than let me get off the phone and wait it out for my Dr., she made room for me to come in. Within an hour or so I was walking in to the office with an appointment. First impression: Welcoming smiles from the Front Staff, all of them. The office was chill and inviting and smelled like a Hyatt Resort. Between the greetings and paperwork, I was being brought back and in the chair within 10 minutes. Junes was awesome from start to finish! Dr. Koshgerian came in within a few minutes and was on it. Very reassuring, thorough and experienced. He listened but wanted to make sure I understood everything we saw in the X-ray. He asked me a few questions about my current pain and explained the procedure in detail. I remember thinking "this office is legit...waiting list for surgery is probably two weeks out" and all of a sudden I hear "would you like me to take care of that painful tooth issue today?" Be careful what you wish for I guess. I wanted fast but this was Flash, fast. They left it up to me. So rather than wait another day with this pain, "let's do it", I said. In came Sarah and yes it was the same Sarah I talked to earlier. She remembered the convo and was super chill as well. She went over all my options for payment, insurance etc. and assured me all would go well. Within 20 minutes of me walking in to this office, I'm in the chair getting the royal treatment to prep me for my surgery. Junes even asked me what music I like to relax to. She quickly asked Alexa to play it and I was ready for surgery while listening to my favorite station. I know you're wandering what that station is/was? :-)...........keep wandering. Haha I elected for Local Anesthesia cause I don't mind tools, drills and sounds. I was a little weary of seeing and hearing someone rip my tooth out but honestly it went so fast with the most painful part being tiny prick of a needle to numb the gums. Dr. Koshgerian is a Dental Surgery Whisperer. I don't know how he did it but the man has magic hands or something! True Rock Star!!! Special shout out to Autumn for a thorough Post Surgery rundown of what I need to do to recover quickly but most importantly, healthy. Please add BBQ Pork Belly Burnt ends as an allowed food for those recovering. Soft and not too spicy. Thanks, Autumn.
