I had an excellent experience at the dentist! Mindy, the hygienist, was fantastic — she was gentle, thorough, and made sure I was comfortable throughout the entire cleaning. Josh did a great job with my X-rays, ensuring everything went smoothly. I really appreciated how Dr. Kirpekar took the time to explain my dental needs in detail, answering all my questions and making sure I understood the best course of action. It's clear that the team is dedicated to providing top-notch care, and I left feeling well taken care of. Highly recommend!

Recommend avoiding Pacific Heights Dental. My experience started off great with Dr. Bui, but after being transferred to Dr. Eriksen, it became the worst dental care I’ve received. She has been consistent in negligence and likely has extended my treatment by over a year. I share the sentiment of the other reviews below. I’ve since been switched to another more competent dentist in the practice, but once my Invisalign treatment is done, I’ll be glad to never have to return. 1. Negligence: Pretty sure Dr. Eriksen forgot to order my Invisalign trays. She never followed up with me on this. 2. Poor communication: When I called politely to ask about my care, I was met with rude responses from both the receptionist and Dr. Eriksen. 3. Lack of care: Dr. Eriksen repeatedly forgot key details about my treatment, like assuming I was there for a cleaning instead of Invisalign. I yet again had to remind them. Beyond this, the practice has major issues: surprise billing months later, extremely rude staff, long wait times (40+ minutes past appointment time), and last-minute cancellations with no empathy. I understand staff may be overworked, but this lack of professionalism and care is unacceptable. Patients deserve better.

If there was a way to give 0 stars that would be most appropriate. The front desk is a 3 ring circus and it trickles down from the dentist, who cancels and rebooks more than not. I made an appointment to get teeth whitening and it was canceled and rebooked twice. It was rescheduled a third time and I was not even booked in for the services that I signed up for online. The 4th time cancelled. Extremely unorganized, never once an apology or thoughtful response on the numerous cancels. They seem to be an unreliable mess and the front desk staff - cant even accomplish the BASIC niceties of professional courtesy.

It seems they are in a transitional state. In the last year my hygienist left, and now I just found out my Dentist left. A year ago I wanted to move forward with some procedures, after a few times of calling them to set up appt to get them started no one got back to me so I decided to reach out to someone else for guidance. I wish them well, but I will be getting another Dentist who puts me 1st.

Helped me feel comfortable when I was scared of the procedure (Wisdom tooth removal). Made it a much better experience than I was expecting it to be.

I was referred by two friends here. I got the best care I have had in several years. Joined their health care plan. It's a great deal.

The first negative review I’ve ever written. I’m hoping this will spare anyone else in the community the nightmare I experienced in trusting Dr. Eriksen and Pac Heights Dental with my teeth. I wish I had done my research before, as I have now discovered they have a poor reputation in the community and I’m not the only person who was impacted by their complete lack of regard for dental and client care. If you want a competent dentist, you won’t find it in Dr. Eriksen. If you hope for communication and accountability after making serious treatment errors, look elsewhere. After some serious mistakes were made, the office ignored my calls and has done nothing to take any responsibility. I can understand that mistakes are made, but the complete lack of communication and accountability in the face of mistakes are what I find highly problematic. I was a patient at PCD for a few years and things went okay, although I always felt the women at the front desk were rude and aloof. In my most recent experience, Dr. Eriksen made a serious error and she said she would call me to discuss the matter. That was over two weeks ago. Prior to this, I had called the office to state my concern and was never called back- I called for over two weeks, sent emails and texts. Since then, the office has ignored my calls and passed my complaint onto a “patient experience manager” who sent me a two line email saying she’d be in touch. A week later, I received a brief phone call from the “patient experience manager” and she had a rude and short tone. I wasn’t able to talk when she called and she said she’d call me the next day- I never got a call back. Due to this entire experience, I’ve filed a complaint with the dental board which has been taken seriously. I never thought to check reviews and I chose this dental practice based off convenience, a mistake I won’t make again. I hope this helps other people make an informed choice when searching for a dentist.

I was very much disappointed that when I arrived to check in, an other dental hygienist had been assigned to me. I thought tbat perhaps Tina, had called in sick. When I asked the new hygienist, what happened to Tina I was told that she was seeking employment closer to where she lived. The new hygienist was competent and professional and I enjoyed her rapport. Think her name was Liz. I believe it would have been professionally transparent of you to notify me that I would not be seeing Tina and to inform me that’s he was not an employee. After my friend Tom Kuhn retired, I only drove from West Marin, because Tina was extraordinary. No other reason. The hygienist also suggested that I purchase a prescription Flouride toothpaste that cost $35. Foolishly, I did not read the ingredients. Right before, I was about to use the oroduct, I read the contents snd found that they included Yellow and Red Dye coloring and Titanium Dioxide. The latter was banned by the EU 3 years ago when a study concluded that it gave mice cancer. Gov Newsom attempted to have this snd other additives banned in CA over a year ago but Titanium Dioxide was taken off the list at the last minute. I do not have the tube in front of me, but will further investigate if the food coloring additives have also been banned. I do not eat any foods with additives and assiduously read labels. No other dentist has ever suggested me purchasing such a product. I will not be using this product and will Let you know about other research. I expect a full refund on the purchase.

Dr. Kapil is my favorite dentist I've ever seen. I have a lot of medical/dental anxiety but I appreciated how he took the time to explain everything to me throughout my first appointment. When I went back for three small fillings, he was so gentle & I didn't even need to be numbed. 10/10 experience.

Dr. Kapil has been an absolute pleasure to work with — he listens, explains with the intent of providing understanding, and does not rush his patients. His dental work is excellent. Grateful to have found this dentistry in San Francisco.
