There was no communication with me about whether my appointment would be kept during a snowy day. While I receive plenty of texts when I have an invoice and to prepare for an appointment, the day of the appointment no one answered the phone from 7:20am-9:15am (they open at 8am), and no texts were sent. The website was not updated about snow cancelations. I had to use my best judgement and no make the trip given no communication from the dental office.

Snow storm day: called 3 times, left voicemails and texted. The outgoing message said they were open but busy with other customers and to leave a message. I did. I also received a text response “Thank you for choosing Chavis, Dental Town DC! We are open but we are currently assisting another patient. Please feel free to leave a message or text us.” I walked 30 min in the snow only to arrive and the office be closed. I then had to walk back home another 30 minutes. Horrible customer service to not call or email that appointments were cancelled that day. Or to update their outgoing message.

Front desk and medical staff are very patient. Medical staff explain everything and check in to see if you have any additional questions. As a bonus, when you check in online for return visits you have the option to just update information that has changed and do not have to reupload photos of your insurance card and photo ID if these have not changed.

I would not recommend coming here. I went in for a simple cleaning and was pushed a very aggressive treatment plan to have my bottom retainer removed for no reason other than plaque build occurs there more frequently. The doctors come off as passive aggressive and slightly arrogant in the way they talk to you. The other staff however were nice and considerate. I feel as though there are better options in the DC metro area for dental work.

I’ve been seeing this provider for over 20 years. They are friendly and provide quality dental care. I was in and out for my routine cleaning and fluoride.

Dr. Chavis is wonderful. Five years ago I moved out of the DC area. I found a well-reputed dentist and went to him for one problem, but his work wasn’t nearly as good as Dr. Chavis’s. Since then, I drive three hours to see Dr. Chavis. And Dr. Chavis’s staff is great, too.

Wonderful experience! Just moved to DC a few months ago and had to find a new dentist. Chavis is an excellent option for anyone living in the city. I was seen at the exact time my appointment was suppose to start, they offer the latest x-ray tech (no more fitting your mouth over a mold, or waiting days to see Xray results), and lastly, the people provide a really pleasant experience.

I love going to Chavis Dental they have taken great care of my Dental care for 10 years. A great customer family friendly staff and environment.

Located in the heart of downtown DC, There is a positive vibe just walking into this office. Once in, the vibe continues in a very well appointed reception area. After being able to give my personal information via some type of iPad that was handed to me, I started thinking that I was getting special attention. At that point, the staff took over, directing me into an office with a dental chair. The staff could not have been more pleasant, making sure that I was comfortable and understood all that they were going to do. After the teeth cleaning (absolutely no pain), Dr. Chaudhary walks in and couldn’t have been more pleasant. The entire experience was painless and positive.
