I had the most wonderful 1st experience with a new dentist in my 55 years of life today. As a former Army officer who moved around quite a bit, I have had a variety of military and civilian dentists with whom to compare today’s visit. The attention and service shown today by the Washington Metro Dental team was truly exceptional. In addition to a wonderful support team, I found the knowledge and professionalism of my dentist, Dr. Valaei, rivalled only by her care and concern. I give them my highest rating and recommend them without hesitation or reservation.

Dr V is an absolute superstar! Very friendly staff too. I was late and they were incredibly accommodating. Dr V made sure to educate me and fully walk through every procedure in advance and was super happy to answer all my questions even if I was just curious about new tech. They always made sure I felt comfortable and wasn’t in any pain. My original dentist office was closed for vacation when I needed emergency treatment, so I was referred here by a family member. I will continue to make the trip out and have this as my regular dentist office since Dr V is so stellar! Five stars

I had a great experience here! My dental hygienist, Tamana, was super kind, efficient, and helpful. She was able to take me in right away, and I truly appreciate it. Would recommend anyone in the DC area!

Dr Washington is the best DC dentist I've ever had! She was able to save a root canal tooth that was in a very dire condition. She is most knowledgeable and gentle. And her new, one block to the metro L street NW office is state-of-the-art, with very friendly and professional staff. Strongly recommend.

Was a new patient to this practice. I can’t speak highly enough of the full practice. Let’s start with the technicians, they are always so kind and courteous, the doctors specifically Dr. V who was my doctor, is absolutely phenomenal. She takes her time, is thorough and so kind. Dr. Washington is who I saw once is just as kind and thorough. Lastly, the quiet gem of the practice, Louisa. She handles the billing I believe primarily and I learned has been at the practice since its inception, I believe. That alone says so much about the practice. It takes a team and making the patient feel comfortable, welcome and appreciated is no easy task but all of this team, in my experience does this exactly.

Was not a great experience with my husbands procedure with Dr. Valaei so we will not be returning. Nice practice tho as far as aesthetics goes.

It was my first time visiting the new location for my repeat cleaning session. It was very clean and front desk staffs were very kind as always. Dental hygienist was very gentle and constantly asked me whether I was uncomfortable and checking on how I was doing. I 100% recommened this practice.

They spam your phone asking you to confirm the appointment, dozens of SMS, calls, for an appointment I booked, in the middle of the work day and also during inexplicable hours. Their forms system does not work unless you refresh the browser 3, 4 times, and they will call you to rectify misinformation about insurance right before your appointment.

I was referred to WMD by District Perio. I had a cracked tooth from night grinding. The dentist seemed preoccupied with selling me an Invisalign program. WMD sent me to an endodontist for a root canal. I was waiting for WMD's reply when my permanent crown was ready. I reached out to them four weeks after the root canal. They had not communicated with the endodontist and had yet to start work on the permanent crown. This is very disappointing.

I will not be returning to this dentist. I suffered an extreme amount of pain during the procedure of having a permanent crown placed, even after being numbed and given anesthesia several times. While placing the crown, Dr. Valaei asked me if I had anything prior to the appointment, to which I told her I had taken 2 ibuprofen early that morning. When I continued to experience pain, she asked me if I had smoked weed, which I was very offended by. Then she told me that she’d give me Xanax for following appointments. No, thank you. I’ll try my luck somewhere else. First of all, why are you asking me if I smoke weed, I found it to be very strange and highly offensive. On top of that, I am still experiencing pain since having the procedure yesterday, I’ve had a throbbing headache since I woke up this morning, can’t put anything that’s even a little cold in my mouth without a sharp pain. I have spent an incredible amount of money already on dental work there, just to be told that I may need to root canal on the same tooth that she just placed the crown over. So now, I probably need a root canal and will have to now have that procedure done and go through this whole process once again and that’s fine, but I will not be having that done at Washington Metro Dental. Moreover, my gum is raw from when the dental tech kept resting the suction tube against my gum during the procedure, after I kept saying that the suction was hurting me. I was there for nearly 4 hours, they switched me from room to room, and the one of the rooms was extremely cold, like an ice box. Although, the staff are “friendly”, I will definitely be going to a more experienced dentist, who knows to give me a root canal in the first place. I am upset, my head hurts, my jaw hurts, my mouth hurts my dental benefits are depleted from these expensive visits and I will not be back! Proceed with caution.
