A Reason to Smile

A reason to avoid - zero respect for my time as a patient and extreme lack of professionalism. The last straw was my latest visit which needed to be rescheduled three times by them. When I dared object and say that I did not appreciate my time being wasted, they then proceed to tell me to go see another dentist.Two weeks ago I was coming all the way across town and stuck in traffic so I called them to tell them and ask if I should keep coming or turn around, that I was going to be 5-10 minutes late. They say to keep coming its fine. I show up 11 minutes late and they turn me away saying that since I was more than 10 minutes late, I had to reschedule. Wasted half my day because of this.That very appointment that I rescheduled right there in the office was rescheduled by THEM an hour later because they made a mistake. It was rescheduled to this morning. This morning I get a text message saying they are going to have to reschedule again. So this same appointment was rescheduled three times, all because of their office. I told them I did not appreciate my time being wasted and their response "we encourage you to seek the care of another dentist as soon as possible"What. A. Joke.

Everyone at a reason to smile is friendly and helpful. I was very glad to get my dentures in a timely manner. I was disappointed to find when I got my lower dentures that the inserts were too small and that I could not use denture cleaner or anything to clean my dentures except a toothbrush. But when I ask the dentist to put the right size inserts in my bottom teeth they did so promptly so they stay in better now! I wish the denture material was higher quality so I could use denture cleaners. But I am very pleased to have my lower dentures replaced. I have Molina Insurance and was allowed $4,000 towards the cost and the cost for my lower Dentures was $3,084 total. I am very grateful that I have been blessed to have Dentures so I'm not walking around toothless.! Smile! Thanks to all!

I always enjoy going to the dentist believe it or not because everyone is so pleasant and nice. Donna is amazing in cleaning my teeth. She knows where I’m sensitive which makes my time in the chair very relaxing. They greet me with the best smiles and friendliness. I feel like they really care. Thank you to you all.We have been going to Dr. Smith since our children were young. They are now grown with children of their own. They still remember how great their visits to the dentist were.

My husband spent over $10,000 with this dentist. During that time they never cleaned his teeth, instead they worked on the wrong teeth in the wrong order. Their hygienist was so mean to my husband. I have never been to a dentist office quite like this one, it was terrible. After we paid every invoice they invoiced us again for $42 after all work was complete and paid for. This invalid invoice never came to us and they sent it to collections. BEWARE THEY ARE EXPENSIVE AND DISHONEST.

All the office staff, dental assistants, and dental hygienists are the best. Scheduling is easy and they send you text reminders for your upcoming appointment. The billing desk is great about helping you with your insurance and/or, setting you up with a fair payment plan. I believe that anyone in need would not be turned down. To me, I feel that Dr. Smith has created that sense of caring and compassion among his staff, and it is obvious that he holds himself to that same high standard.Dr. Smith is one of the greatest guys I've ever met. He is extremely professional, explains what he is going to do and why. And, then he does it. Everything he does is done to perfection. Yet, when it is all over, you feel like saying, " Hey, let's go have a beer after work."If you are freaked out about going to a dentist, don't be. Dr. Smith will make it as painless as possible. My family and I have been seeing him for the last 27 + years.If you need a new dentist or are looking for a change. Dr. Smith and his excellent office is the place you want to be.

Dr smiths office is always polite and professional!! He's Been my dentist for 30 years! Retention of staff says a lot about the office. I see the same bright faces from front of house, (Laura and Austin, Tammy.)To back of house. Donna has cleaned my teeth for so long, she feels like family. Thanks for keeping my smile bright!

My husband and I’ve been very happy with our dental care for years. Everyone is kind and friendly. They treat you like family. High quality, professional dental care.I’ve had dental crowns and fillings taken care. Also, I’ve recently started an implant procedure, and it’s going pretty well!On a couple of occasions, I had an emergency visit, they responded quickly.Thank you for the great dental care! In Boise only for a few months, but was due for a cleaning and was having some sensitivity issues with 2 teeth. Found a coupon in the mail for an exam, x-ray and cleaning. Front desk staff was very friendly. Minimal wait time. The dental hygienist was phenomenal. She was extremely knowledgeable and gave thorough explanations of the x-rays and 3D mapping. Dentist was also great and confirmed all the things the hygienist had said. I would easily say this was my best experience ever at a dentist office. They have some really cool technology I had never seen used before. They quoted me for some fillings and a crown, all were priced well below my expectations (no insurance). Friendly, family-feel to the place that I would recommend to anyone. 10/10

I wouldn't hesitate to use Dr. Smith and his hygienists for routine adult and child dental care - cleanings, fillings, crowns - that sort of thing. I'd be careful if you need services beyond the routine - ask very good questions, and expect honest and complete answers - not obfuscation. If you may need something like implants, I'd be doubly careful. I had 2 implants lower right - 28, 29, and a root canal #30. Done in 2010, I've had nothing but problems since- infections, expensive periodontal work and bone grafting (twice) to treat bone loss holding the implants. Now, I need to likely have those implants removed as well as #30 molar with a failing root canal removed. I'm not sure what the treatment plan will be to correct the work that Dr. Smith did - the team of dentists and specialists will study the images and discuss options.In addition to the many xrays and photos this team took, they asked me to get xrays when the original implants were placed - before and after. Dr. Smiths office agreed to have them for me in the new year (2023) but said they would charge me a fee of $100.That seemed odd to me because Idaho legislation shows the fees for a patient request at .50 (fifty cents) per page for the first 25 pages, then .20 (twenty cents) per page after.Dr. Smith is a nice guy to talk to, but I feel there's some sort of patriarchal attitude going on, where he's not as honest and transparent as any adult patient (or parent) deserves. I say this because I've gotten excellent, clear communication from other doctors who are going to be treating me going forward, and to fix this health problem with my jaw.It may be true the computer guided surgery technology didn't exist back then to allow Dr. Smith to do a better job of placing these implants (images taken by another dentist shows they were not placed properly or straight into bone) I believe he did the best he could back then, but I regret having this procedure with him, and in retrospect would not have.I'm a generally healthy, athletic man, and this problem with the failing implants and resultant bone loss is really my only health concern at this time. I'm hoping that the correct treatment plan will fix this - between procedures and healing, this will probably take most of 2023. "Thank you" Dr. Smith for this anxiety provoking, and expensive mess.

Wonderful place, wonderful people. Everyone at A Reason to Smile is friendly and treats you like family as soon as your arrive. I have spent years without an actual dentist, as I have never been good at brushing and have felt a bit embarrassed about that. Last year, I decided to fix my brushing habits and get an actual dentist, and now I am very happy that I chose A Reason to Smile when browsing online. They didn't make me feel bad, at all, about the cavities I came in with, nor my past fillings. They also gave me pointers and encouragement...I now have good brushing and flossing habits!
