Smiles West - Covina

This is for sure a scammer dentistry.My insurance company called me to ensure that my plan covers 100% of the basic treatments, which no copay should incurred at all.Today they were planning to charge me $450 for right side deep cleaning, and another $450 for left side deep cleaning, just for the copay! And insisted that deep cleaning has to be done by two different visits. SUCH A SCAM! Unbelievable.Then there are 2 other services not covered by insurance, one is the periodontal gum disease and they wanted to give me the teeth trays and medicine, and it is $475 each, you need two for top and bottom. The other one is to repair my broken filling and it costs $300.When my insurance company Aetna called them and asked about the copay, the lady from the dentistry lied and said that that was for the periodontal disease trays, and said that no other payment as insurance covered it. WHAT A LIAR!I am so disappointed to know there is such existence of dark and evil dentistry here and I wish they get their karma soon.

This establishment does great dental work. However, every visit the dentist and or front staff suggest unnecessary dental work and or products/ services. They are quick to charge patients for services without looking over what they are charging you for while also not reviewing insurance coverage as well as booking unnecessary appointments (just to have you come in and pay out of pocket). Not to mention, appointments never start on time, even with filling out paper work before arrival. I would not recommend this dentist unless you like to over pay for things you don’t need or have a surplus of time to waist.

Worst service I’ve ever experienced! At first I had an appointment for end of Jan 2024 that appointment got cancelled because of over booking, than I got another appointment beginning of Feb the dentist had an emergency and I had to rebook and now my appointment got pushed to march! If you need a dentist you have to book months in advance and hope that they keep the appointment. I wouldn’t recommend this dentist I’m sure a 1 star dentist would have better service!

My experience smile West Dental was a good experience the staff was kind and friendly, very understanding. The Dentist. Dr. Cho was very nice and very professional. Before the dentist did the diagnosis she introduced herself. I really believe she did a thorough diagnosis, not over diagnosis. She explained what I needed. I really enjoyed coming to this office, good experience. Thank you.

You say you were honored to be my wife’s dentist. Yet, your behavior and the staff of your office behaved most dishonorably.. when you found out that the loose crown needed cementing and that Medi cal d”would not cover the cost, you just walked away to another patient even though my wife’s case was urgent and she had an appointment with your office.. We were told it would cost $250 and we agreed to pay it. Yet, your assistant told us that the dentist would still not be able to attend to it at that time and that another appointment would have to be rescheduled..At that moment we had no choice but to leave and untreated..It was not an issue of time or money..No, you dishonorable people acted in a most racist fashion against an American woman simply because she was wearing a hijab.. I Shame on you..

I was not satisfied with your services. I'm an 85yr old women who was left in the room for about an hour before the dentist came in and then to be told that my insurance wouldn't cover what I needed because it's only been 3yrs and MediCal will only cover what I needed after 5yrs, therefore I would have to pay out of pocket. To me it was a waste of my time and the dentist's time. The ladies in the front should have told me before going into the room to sit and wait. Also, the 2 ladies in front office were not very nice or friendly. I felt them both to be rude. At this time my daughter is considering that I find a different dentist office.

Caveat Emptor!After TWO years of orthodontic treatment and being released from treatment this is the result were you can see with your own eyes the permanent MOLAR that is still buried under the gum-line and laying on its side!! Another dentist discovered this as she went for a deep cleaning.Are you willing to risk your kids treatment at Smiles West of Covina??Pedro

I was having terrible pain and Smiles Dental took me in right away ...a wisdom tooth pulled and a bone graph , the procedure was painless !Everyone that day was kind to me , made me feel secure , I knew I was in good hands , thank you to the entire staff , very grateful for all that you did for me , and thank you Doctor Chen your the best 💙👍

For starters I pick this place because it's near to my house and the first thing they do is send me to a specialist in rancho Cucamonga 22 miles away on top of that to people in the front of not very friendly or communicated but then barely look in my mouth already saying I need root canals and all this and all that always looking to make money from insurance company's. Very disappointing
