Saddened to say my braces experience with AOS was not worth it. I loved the doctor and Liz, one of the specialists. They were great. However, I'm almost two months post braces removal and my teeth are worse than when I went in. I had braces once before AOS (didn't work out with my first ortho for many reasons), so during my consultation with this office, I made it clear what my biggest concern was (my two front teeth). They assured me they could take care of it. 12 months after my braces were put on, they removed them. I should have known the day of the removal that my teeth would not be straight. There was a visible gap between my two front teeth. But I was assured that with my retainers, it would close up. Long story short, it did not work. So I called not even a week later and told them of my concerns. I went back in (DID NOT see Dr. Bicknell) and the first specialist, which I should have gotten her name, was beyond rude and had the worst attitude. She "could not see what I was talking about" even though my teeth were clearly not aligned and no longer straight. Liz, my favorite employee there, luckily stepped in and helped. Sure, she was able to fix it at the moment. However, I was not given a new nighttime retainer. They said to call if the issue came back, but with the way they treated me last time, I do not feel comfortable anymore. It's all about the money clearly. And btw, the two weeks of wearing my retainers every day, all day did nothing. I am sooo unhappy with my teeth, I am still stuck paying this office another year, and have been on the hunt again for a new orthodontist. I am hoping that the third time really is the charm. I am shocked that they have 5 stars because on Yelp, they have a 3 and I think someone else on there complained of the same thing. It's a shame.

I love aos! I got my braces done here and the whole process went smoothly. During my time here I was a college student and was able to get a payment plan for my braces. I was able to make reasonable payments each month. AOS always made my appointments enjoyable and quick. I never had to wait a long time and all the staff is friendly. I always was scared of lasers or any tools used on my teeth but, Dr. Bicknell always made me feel comfortable. I got a gingival reduction done and he made sure I wasn’t feeling any pain and was calm. The orthodontist and staff here care about their patients. They always explain everything in details. You can tell they enjoy their job and enjoy helping you.

Their office staff are liars, their associate is not able to handle challenging cases and their owner wouldn’t engage in handling a challenging case. It seems they are only in the business for the easy money. Multiple visits with the same repair attempted and the same results, more breakage. When asked about a financial status to decide if we should get a 2nd opinion we were discharged. Note: Our experience was at the Forest Park location but it’s the same business.

My wife and I took my son to Advanced Orthodontic Specialists after a poor experience at another Orthodontic office. We contacted Sarah, the Director of Operations, and were able to secure an appointment within days. Sarah truly gave a great first impression of the organization. We arrived for our 5pm appointment at 4:50pm and immediately greeted by Mary who led us back. Mary took our son for imaging and came back and have a comprehensive explanation between treatment options. Mary is a true professional who is kind and caring.Dr. Bicknell then came into the consultation room and went through our sons images with us. Dr. Bicknell took a tremendous amount of time to thoroughly explain our options, answer questions, and give his professional opinion. I have never encountered a doctor who had such a great demeanor and was able to explain the treatment options as Dr. Bicknell.Although there are many other Orthodontic offices much closer and more convenient to where we reside, I won't go to any other office because of how great the operation is run and the level of care and treatment Advanced Orthodontic Specialists offers.

Dr. Bicknell and everyone at Advanced Orthodontic Specialists is absolutely amazing! I can honestly say that I love going to his practice! They really do value your time and provide you with exceptional service at every visit. As an added perk, the ladies in the clinic and at the front desk are always excited to hear what I have been up to and how my family is doing. I feel like I am visiting a group of friends each time I have an appointment. If you are looking for a practice that is going to provide you with personalized service, runs on schedule and creates gorgeous smiles - Advanced Orthodontic Specialists should be your pick!**They also have a Forest Park location which is just as amazing as the Elmhurst location. I have been able to schedule at both locations which helps with my crazy travel schedule.

I really like Dr. Bicknell and all the staff at Advanced Orthodontist. I have been in braces with them for 3yrs for an open bite. The staff and assistants have always been very kind and welcoming. Due to my open bite there was an expectation that Dr.Bicknell would do everything possible to close my bite without having to have jaw surgery. Right into my 2nd year of treatment which was also during COVID time I wasn’t able to keep up with my payments and fell behind. Due to this I missed about 6months (rough estimate) of treatment. Once I was able to make those payments I contacted them to continue my treatment and was told that my balance needed to be cleared and if there was additional work needed then there would be an extra balance. My first appointment back all the talk was Jaw Surgery Jaw Surgery Jaw Surgery. I was confused by the change in direction. By the time of my next visit I had been passed along to the other Doctor in the office. No offense to her, she was very kind, but it was weird especially because Dr. Bicknell had specifically told me he would be handling my case personally. The other doctor gave me a referral to see a oral surgeon and took me off my rubber bands. I really do want my bite corrected this is something I’ve wanted my entire life for functional and aesthetic reasons. So at this point because they were basically saying this is our only option at this point I started to consider this option. After thinking about it further I don’t have the time or financial means to even consider something like that. On top of the pain and recovery time. So I went into my next appointment and let the other Dr. Know that I did not want surgery. She very bluntly told me that at this point braces could not correct my bite. I was confused because before I took the break Dr. Bicknell had given many options of corrections and steps to take before even considering surgery. When I asked she just said they’d done all they could do. So my next appointment I asked to be assigned back to Dr. Bicknell. My appointments after that have been very quick and now I am set for removal with a very open bite that I feel is worse than before I had braces. Before I could bite down on both sides with my back molars now I only bite down on my right side and it’s actually painful and hard to eat. I left my appointment setting up my removal appointment very sad because I always anticipated this moment being very happy and excited but instead I felt sad and regretfully. I spent a lot of money to not even have the results even close to want I wanted. I think they are great dentist just felt that once I missed those appointments they were ready to get me out the door. And I get it they’re a business but I still ended up paying them $7500 for straight teeth no one can see because of my bite.

From the moment you call the office, you feel like they truly care about you! I spoke with Kellee in my initial call and she was extremely kind and helpful. Aja at the front desk is a ray of sunshine and I love the greeting I always receive when walking in. The office is so comfortable and everyone you encounter is so kind- you never want to leave! Communication is very clear, the treatment is personalized, and the relationships you build with the AOS team is something that will last a lifetime.

So far I’m very pleased with my treatment. 6 months in using spark and there has been such an improvement on the alignment of my teeth!!! Also the staff and doctors are so nice and patient. I can’t wait to see the ending results! I love that they pay attention to every little detail of your smile alignment and teeth shape. I’m so happy I found the right practice to align my teeth with!! 🤩

Here at Advanced Orthodontic Specialist (AOS)care in Elmhurst has been a pleasurable and relaxing experience for me, thus far. The team here are very nice, caring and professional. I would definitely reccomend their care to anyone who is interested in orthodontic treatment. 🙂 Thank you for kindness!Edit:In my penultimate evaluation. Dr. Manika was very kind and informative about my options of treatment. Both how my treatment was going and what I could choose to do and the assistants are as always nice and helpful. I hope to see you guys soon. Thank you for a great year!
