Some of the people I learned to appreciate over the years of coming here: Vilma (I absolutely love you), Maria, Rommy, Beth, Dr. Joyner (truly cares & knows what's best for her patients) and a few members of the new orthodontist team that came on board (sorry, cannot remember their names). These people have seen me cry during procedures (I get terrible anxiety) or simply have tolerated me at times when my attitude wasn't the best. I will say however, they haven't been the best at keeping appointment times. I'd understand patients have to wait, but more than 30 minutes is not ok! I hope this changes because it has been a continuous issue for me. Other than that, when it comes to bringing your kid(s) I will admit everyone in there have always been super sweet, caring, and attentive.

It is with a heavy heart I write this review. I have been taking my 3 children to Dr. Joyner since they were about 4 years, they are now in their 20’s. I have never experienced such unprofessional treatment. I visited for myself yesterday, I requested meds for my gum infection, call to follow up today! Elizabeth “Beth” answered, I identified myself, she said nothing, after holding for seconds, I said hello, she respond”hold on I’m logging” I reply how would I know what you were doing? She said nothing, kept me on hold and never came back to the phone, I hang up and called back. She pickup the phone, I can hear her speaking in Spanish to a client, she never came on the phone. I blocked my caller ID and called back, she answered, I told her that, she was rude and that’s no way to handle clients, she states “ I don’t care what you have to say” and she Hangup in my face once again. I called back, and ask to speak with her supervisor, she said”no one is here today”, call back on Monday, again Hangup.I called back! Romy answered, I told her about my encounter with Beth.As a Black Owned Business Owner, we are held at a higher standard, to provide our highest level of Customer Service experience. Elizabeth (Beth) SHOULD NOT BE WORKING IN THIS FIELD OR AT THE FRONT DESK OF ANYONE BUSINESS.

We are always very well attended at Smile Spa Hawthorne, Drs. are amazing, their communication is clear and effective, which gives us a unique sense of security. After having had bad experiences with other clinics, we are extremely happy to have found them. Now, finally, we can enjoy dental care without any worries. My first time visit was informative, pleasant and staff friendly. My interaction with X-ray technician was very positive - he diid a complete overall review of my teeth , asked about deep cleaning and gave helpful feedback I can use. Dr Joyner provided a detailed exam and suggestion for next step in my care routine. She was very informative and pleasant. I was very impressed with my first visit. Thank you staff and Dr. Joyner

The owner of the office is very disrespectful and rude and annoying. He doesn’t listen to women I went in there yesterday because my son was having some pain and the dental assistant did what he did like he normally does and said that he had a loose tooth and that it’s been loose since March because he remembered my son I said cool so when I saw the doctor, I immediately got up and requested for a female. Female dentists are more compassionate and are easy and listen and I had a great experience with her. She was wonderful with my child. Receptionist said yes you can see her. She asked me how old my son was. I said 12 she said OK that’s OK. She proceeded to let the lady know that she has a patient in the back the doctor came in. I let him know that I requested to see the female Dentist. He proceeded to go on about. She’s not a doctor. She’s just an employee he pretty much disrespected everybody that was working for him and was letting me know that he was the HNIC and I didn’t care because at the end of the day if my child is uncomfortable with somebody, I’m gonna make it my duty to make him comfortable and that’s what I was doing as a mother , I was trying to give this man business, but I could not give him the business because I don’t like his disposition. I don’t like him as a human being. I don’t like him as a Dentist. Every time I came in with my child he always try to upsell I don’t wanna hear that ish that’s not what I’m here for. I don’t wanna hear anything that you got to say that doesn’t have anything to do with making him better today I had to get a second opinion and I did he proceeded to talk to me and have a conversation in front of my child in a rude manner I don’t conduct business in front of my child, and I do not allow a man to talk to me in that manner in front of my child. He also lied in front of my child I had to correct him , I would not recommend this Dentist to anybody that I know he went on and said this is my office, this is my this and that I am the doctor here can’t nobody do anything without my say so and XYZ their employees they do what I say that’s horrible and I wouldn’t want to work for him. I’m a college graduate I Process Information very well and can speak English very well he talked to me like I was dumb and I wonder if he would have that same attitude in the same manner if my husband was standing next to me if you’re a woman don’t go there by yourself make sure your child is accompanied by their father or have a male with you.

Unfortunately, the visitation system does not work. The appointment scheduled for my son was at 4:15, we arrived on time, but it is already 5:35 in the afternoon and we still haven't passed. The people who arrived a long time later passed before, and we were almost the ones. Lastly, I did not like at all the way patients are taken because if we have an appointment we have to wait so long, if the appointment is for that purpose it is not that the appointment is in order of arrival, then it turns out that if one does not arrive at the They want to charge you $50 for an appointment for a delay or worse yet, an improvised cancellation due to an emergency, but if you wait more than 3 hours it is normal... terrible attention, terrible follow-up to appointment scheduling... they are very unconscious and do not respect the schedule of each patient with their appointment scheduled in advance. I would give their service a ZERO

Dr. Tucker worked on both my daughter (age 5) and son (age 3) and did an amazing job!My son is absolutely terrified of the dentist and Dr. Tucker’s calm demeanor completely calmed my son’s fears.We will ONLY be using this office.Love love love!Highly recommend!

I’ve had an absolute horrible experience here. The first 2 appointments were fine because I only got my teeth fillings in but I was hurt a lot throughout the process. Then I had to get my 4 wisdom teeth taken out and the surgeon was not profesional at all. He asked me inappropriate questions about my appearance such as making comments about my makeup. I don’t see why he had to make any of these questions or comments at all especially since I am a MINOR. I couldn’t get out since I was already out under sedation but I was absolutely terrified. After a week I started having issues again because my gums kept bleeding. I called the receptionist since I didn’t know what to do and all I got was attitude. After 2 weeks I went into the ER and thankfully my mother was there by side throughout the entire process. I got an infection since the surgeon didn’t properly take out my bitten left wisdom tooth. After this whole experience I decided to never go back here. I’m currently going to another dentist and I’ve been treated so well and everyone is so nice. Although, today I found out that not even my fillings were done correctly causing me not to be able to floss my teeth at all. I’m definitely going to talk this over with a lawyer and I hope nobody else experiences this ever again!!

Thank you to All Staff members, Velma, Princess, Dr. Joyner, and Dr. Tucker. I’ve been to other dental offices in the past, that my 9 YO daughter truly feels comfortable and welcomed in your office. She feels safe and willing to start her new phase 1 journey onto getting braces and fixing her smile. Her fear of dental office has decreased each time after her dental visits. Front office is amazing with little to no wait time, and open to making future appointments working with my work schedule. I’m so grateful and Thank you once again! :)

I have a 18-month-old daughter and this was her first time going to the Dentist. I love the fact that his dentist office was very prompt and on time clean and I love the fact of how they did my daughter by introducing her to what they were going to be doing for her to be OK I would definitely recommend this dentist office. I had to really thank the receptionist for all her help and we can’t wait for her appointment again in three months.
