Tend Grand Central

This place is awful. Beware! Dr. G will come in the first 15 mins and scrape at your teeth and tell you they are all decayed. I told her to get my hands out of my mouth. This place is looking to make money so they will scare people into thinking they need tons of work done with fillings. How do you think they pay for the TVs and all the “perks”. I left before they even did my cleaning because I don’t ever want a dentist that is a used car salesman. Absolutely disgusted! They should be ashamed!

I only scheduled a $120 teeth cleaning but was charged for x-rays and other costs related to being a new patient which were not explained up front totaling $425! While these costs were covered by my insurance, I have a $1,000 annual cap which is now significantly reduced so that I will incur around $3,000 out of pocket costs if I have all of the recommended preventative care done with Tend. The staff were all polite and professional otherwise and my cleaning was painless yet thorough.

Jose did my cleaning today and it was absolutely amazing. He was so personable and so knowledgeable. He stopped every step of the way to explain what he was doing, why certain things were uncomfy and how to prevent them. I have been going to the dentist for 20 years and I have never encountered someone who made me feel so comfortable, safe and helped me understand how teeth and our habits worked hand in hand. So sad I’m moving if not Jose would be doing my cleanings forever !! Kudos for the Amazing work!

I love Tend!! The GC location is wonderful! It's pretty, clean, the staff is friendly, and you're seen at your appointment time. I love that I get to wear sunglasses and watch TV while my teeth are being worked on. The dentists and hygienists also walk me through the entire session and check in on me the whole time to make sure I'm doing alright.

Not thorough. Ended in bad time.I went in for a toothache, I had X-rays taken, an exam done, and told nothing was wrong. Within the week I had a tooth break. This was supposed to be a noticeable issue and obvious during my exam. as I went in for a jaw exam. BUT my tooth broke within the week, something that they should’ve pointed out during my exam :(I wish this was something they would’ve caught, unfortunately they dif not. ‘Tis is life, but I will not be going back to this location.

I had a pretty infuriating experience with Tend Grand Central after having an OK time with them for a couple of years. After changing insurances, I called to make sure I was still covered. The representative told that I would be hearing back within two days. After two days, I called back and they said it might just take a little bit longer. I called again after a week, and the representative didn’t seem to know what I was talking about, but looked me up and said that yes, I was covered and we got an appointment on the books.I took off work, commuted from Queens, and was told at the front desk that actually I was not covered, but that I was welcome to pay out of pocket if I wanted.Obviously, this represented a massive waste of time and frustration. I reached out to the Tend customer care department, and was told that I would be contacted by management to explain how this had happened. There was practically no response to my email, just a form letter saying they would look into it. After a week, I emailed again. They tried to call me during working hours while I was with a student and then made absolutely no effort after that. They truly do not care about their customers and all I wanted was an apology for their mistake.How does a massive company like this make such stupid, first day on the job mistakes?

Can’t say enough positive things. Appointments were readily available to see me for an emergency visit, checkin was seamless and the host was super nice. In the treatment room the team showed excellent care and compassion and stayed a little longer to help me knowing my schedule was tight and I was leaving NY for two weeks. Can’t imagine this is regular service but super appreciated. Love the service and access to the care, the team were professional and super kind, and the facility (I’ve visited several locations) is/are super impressive. Not the old school dentist. This is the evolution of care. Great job Tend!

Dr. Horowitz is so wonderful. She’s kind and compassionate whilst being professional and delivers high quality care. I’m undergoing extensive treatment, which is daunting in itself, but Dr. Horowitz and the whole Tend team make me feel safe and comfortable at every treatment appointment. I’m beyond grateful for her professionalism and warmth.

Seeing as how this was my first time, I would give it a 5-star rating. My appointment was at 7AM so there was very minimal wait time as I got there 10 mins in advance. The female identifying individual at the front desk was very friendly and supported me with the check in process prior to my appointment. I was paired with Mary who was able to walk me thru the cleaning process and helped to put me at ease. She was both efficient and very thorough as she walked me thru my treatment options. The office space was clean and I can see myself going back as I continue on working on my healthy teeth journey.

This was my third visit and I highly recommend this dentist office! I went in for a cleaning and as always so far, it’s been pleasant. Super quick check in and once called in, the dentists who clean your teeth are very informative and talk you through their whole process while doing the procedure. They were very delicate but also make sure that they’re still cleaning your teeth well. I did one filling in the past and it was also a great experience with no pain and an even grind :) thank you everyone!
