We’ve had a great experience over the last year with Dr. Shao and all the great folks at Showtime Orthodontics!Everyone is friendly and professional. Scheduling appointments is super easy, and the kids enjoy all the fun details in the office.I’ve also seen Showtime give back to the community which is always nice to see in a small business.Keep up the great work, Showtime!

I absolutely wanted to leave such a great review, but after the emotional rollercoaster of how this treatment went I just can not give my full support on how my situation was handled. My guess is Dr. Shao was just ready to take them off.The process of which Dr. Shao used to close my gaps from having to have baby teeth removed resulted in a very inverted bite. So, much so that I could not chew or speak correctly. I was not given the information to be prepared for this. I just remember the comment after I brought it to his attention the second time "well, we knew that was going to happen". I did not. I had no idea my top and bottom teeth were going to slant inward because the way he had to "use leverage" to pull the back teeth on bottom forward due to "how tough it is to get those teeth to move". What else do you have to be but understanding at that point? Okay... this has to happen, but this caused not only a very unpleasant experience for almost half of my treatment time, chipped both tips of my top canine teeth, but it caused me to have what you what you would call "smokers lips". As you can imagine for someone who doesn't smoke and who had appreciated the way my lip line was before... this was incredibly gut wrenching to lose the fullness provided by my teeth alignement/bite. Even more so when this wasnt an issue before. Well, what are you going to do? Trust the process right? Sure. Now we are at the end of the treatment, and I have expressed the entire time how my teeth used to flare out more, and I was not comfortable with how slanted inward they were... I was advised they are "upright" and that everything else is preference. I explained my concerns about how I have lost the profile in my face, and I really would like more flare to bring this back... at the point he said they were good to come off, I requested we leave them on longer to achieve the look I preferred. At the end of this point I was told there was nothing else we could do - they were upright, and they weren't going to flare anymore. We took them off 11/02, and I immediately realized in the office how this was a mistake seeing them off... I did not say anything because I was afraid it was just in my head (after all I have expressed my concerns and I have been advised by the professional who does this everyday)..I called my general dentist the next day so he could help advise me. He saw me within a week and stated he did see room for improvement, and there were options he could help with. It would involve flare the teeth and Veneers or bonding to fill in and square out teeth in front. So, here we DO have an option to flare, out and achieve the fullness....I even went to another orthodontist for a second opinion who provided resolution...Dr. Shao now wants another $2,000.00 to retreat after I already paid $6,400.00 for treatment that I was told was completed and there was nothing else he could do... I was told that this is at a reduced cost because I am "single mom" and financially this was supposed to help... I appreciate the thought, but this isn't a charity case situation... this is business. This is a service that I paid for... I was not a complicated patient, I arrived on time for my appointments, I never missed a payment, I did not have brackets or wires breaking and needing to come in for undue costly maintenance.*** Most of all… this wasn’t an issue until I was instructed to wear bands in a way that pulled my upper teeth inward unnaturally. *** I feel it is incredibly unfair when I absolutely expressed my concerns before they came off. There was no way of know how valid those concerns were until they came off. I have had EVERYONE tell me my teeth "slant in" and it IS noticeable. I have cried so much, because I was so patient and accepting of what I was being advised by the professional. I should have spoke up more and trusted less instead of being so passive and polite. For the first time in my life I actually hate smiling… and that’s an awful feeling.

This is the best orthodontist and staff ever! They are thorough, answer all your questions, professional, friendly and fun! I highly recommend you take your family here. My kid has beautiful straight teeth thanks to Dr. Shao and his team of superhero assistants! Fun plus is while you wait you can hit up the mini-arcade he has in his lobby and during braces removal parents get to sit on a massage chair! Getting braces has never been so fun!
